UPDATE 5:05 PM:  Britney Spears and Jason Trawick confirmed their break-up with PEOPLE: “Britney Spears and Jason Trawick have mutually agreed to end their one-year engagement,” her rep Jeff Raymond told the magazine. “As two mature adults, they came to the difficult decision to go their separate ways while continuing to remain friends.”

Spears and Trawick also released their own statements: ”Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement,” Spears said. “I’ll always adore him and we will remain great friends.”

Trawick added: “As this chapter ends for us a new one begins. I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever.”

Britney Spears has split with her fiancé Jason Trawick.

TMZ is reporting that the couple have called time on their relationship since getting engaged in December 2011.

Trawick, who used to be the singer’s agent, acted as co-conservator of her assets along with the singer’s father Jamie Spears.

Lawyers for the pop star are in a Los Angeles court today to discuss the status of her conservatorship, which could now result in Trawick withdrawing his interest.

It has been a dramatic week for the Princess of Pop who also confirmed today that she won’t be returning for a second season on The X Factor, Celebuzz previously reported.

“I’ve made the very difficult decision not to return for another season,” Spears said in a statement obtained by Celebuzz. “I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens, but it’s time for me to get back in the studio.”

According to the website’s report, the couple remain friends and decided to call it quits because “they had grown apart.”

The 31-year-old mother of two started dating Trawick, 40, after her divorce in 2007 from ex-husband Kevin Federline.

A rep for Spears did not return a request for comment.

Britney Spears Makes ‘The X Factor’ Exit Official

Britney Spears leaves X Factor

Britney Spears has officially taken her final bow as a judge on The X Factor.

In light of rampant reports this week that the songstress is leaving the popular singing competition show, the 31-year-old has confirmed today she won’t be back for a second season, Celebuzz has confirmed.

Instead, she wants to get back to the music that made her the Princess of Pop.

“I’ve made the very difficult decision not to return for another season,” Spears said in a statement obtained by Celebuzz. “I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens, but it’s time for me to get back in the studio.

“Watching them all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much!” she added. “I can’t wait to get back out there and do what I love most.”

Celebuzz was the first to report that planning meetings for Season 3 of The X Factor have been underway and the “Toxic” singer’s participation going forward wasn’t on the agenda.

So what will the singing sensation tackle next?

The rumor mill is already buzzing that the blonde beauty will hit the Las Vegas stage to perform in her very own Celine Dion-style show, with a source telling Celebuzz that die-hard Brit fans could see her take over the main stage mic sooner than we think.

“She is very interested in a Vegas residency,” a source close to the singer told Celebuzz, “and is in serious talks with one of the major casino groups.”

Britney Spears Mourns Loss of Beloved Grandfather (EXCLUSIVE)

Britney Spears rang in the New Year on a sad note — her beloved grandfather passed away just days before the holidays, the pop star’s uncle has confirmed to Celebuzz.

“She was here for the funeral with Jason and both the little boys,” Allen Stewart said of Spears’ fiance  Jason Trawick and her sons Sean Preston, 7, and Jayden James, 6.

“Paw-Paw” June Spears Sr., 82, died on December 16 after a long battle with cancer, and Stewart says Britney’s sadness was evident at the Louisiana services.

“Everyone was upset and crying,” said Stewart, who’s married to the “Piece of Me” singer’s aunt Jeanine Spears Stewart. “We all hugged each other. She was very upset about her Paw-Paw and spent Christmas at her mom’s nearby. We will all miss him, but he’s in a better place.”

Despite Britney’s enormous popularity — most recently, she made headlines by walking away from her job as a judge on The X Factor — Stewart says the family doesn’t pay much attention to her life in the Hollywood spotlight.

“We love Britney,” he said. “We don’t care about how much money she makes or if she’s on TV. She’s a beautiful person, and having her around with the kids is good enough, especially when the kids can meet their cousins and nephews. It’s about having family in your life. It’s about getting together and seeing one another.

“She and Jason were here a couple years ago for Thanksgiving. It’s country living, and they played on our tractor. It was great. It’s God’s country.”

Stewart even said he wouldn’t trade places with his multimillionaire niece: “To me, if I had her popularity, fame, wealth, I’d be trying to get out of the fast lane and out of city life. She’s just under so much pressure.”

No doubt helping Britney navigate the choppy waters of Tinseltown: Trawick, who has already gotten a thumbs-up from Stewart.

“I like Jason. He’s very down-to-earth,” he said. And Brit’s uncle adds Trawick is a far cry from Kevin Federline, who was married to Britney from 2004 to 2007.

“Kevin was very different to me,” Stewart said. “He was into music and dancing. Jason is business-related, but he wouldn’t put his business before anything.”

Stewart isn’t the only one who gave a stamp of approval to Trawick.

“[Grandpa] June liked him [Jason] a lot too. She [Britney] had his blessing,” he added. “I think he’s really good for Britney. I read everything about what happened and don’t believe everything I read, but the track she was on four or five years ago, she’s gotten so much better since being with him.

“We hope she found the right guy.”

Do you think Britney has finally found her happily-ever after-with Jason? Tell us why — or why not — in the comments section below.

Britney Spears Is Quitting ‘X Factor’

Well, it’s (almost) official. Britney Spears will not be returning to the ‘X Factor,’ but she wasn’t fired. The 31-year-old star has quit.

Although early reports claimed that Simon Cowell was leading the charge to get Spears canned, the pop star actually left the show out of her own volition. The singer is focusing on her music career, with plans to release an eighth studio album and launch a supporting tour. A TMZ source said, “Britney loves Simon, she likes Demi Lovato but her thing is music.”

Us Weekly also has two sources confirming that the femme fatale has left the show, however, she may have walked away before getting the impending axe. In December, an insider told the magazine, “Britney will get the boot. Producers wanted her for the long haul, but it isn’t working.”

Spears was paid a whopping $15 million for the single season, but another source says she didn’t earn her paycheck. “They paid all that for her to say ‘amazing’ and offer half-claps,” the source said. Brit-Brit didn’t exactly fall flat on the show, though. She coached 13-year-old contestant Carly Rose Sonenclar to a second place victory.

In addition to her music career, Spears has her eyes set on the small screen. The star, who has already amassed a list of on-screen credits, is reportedly looking for a recurring role on a TV sitcom this year.

Fifth Harmony, Carly Rose Sonenclar, & Emblem3: Signing to Sony Music?

Fifth Harmony, Carly Rose Sonenclar, & Emblem3: Signing to Sony Music?

Good news, X Factor USA fans! Second season finalists Fifth Harmony, Carly Rose Sonenclar, and Emblem3 are reported to be getting record deals from Sony Music.

The three acts will be signed to Syco Music, a record company co-owned by X Factor executive producer and judge Simon Cowell and Sony Music. Then, Syco will partner up with either Epic Records or Columbia Records, both owned by Sony Music.

L.A. Reid, X Factor judge and chairman/CEO of Epic, is anxious to sign Emblem3 since Columbia already has One Direction on their roster.

“Boring” is a word rarely associated with Britney Spears, but that’s exactly how she’s being described by producers of ‘X Factor.’ A new report says co-creator Simon Cowell is leading the charge to fire Spears before next season because she just wasn’t entertaining enough on the show.

Us Magazine quotes multiple sources who says the ‘Till the World Ends’ performer won’t be back. “Britney will get the boot,” an insider claims. “Producers wanted her for the long haul, but it isn’t working.” A second insider says Spears didn’t earn her $15 million salary. “They paid all that for her to say ‘amazing’ and offer half-claps,” the source said.

Another source gets at the real reason the Brit experiment didn’t work out: “(Simon) wanted crazy Britney, but he got boring Britney.” Hey, if Simon wanted crazy and unpredictable on the judging panel, why didn’t he stick with Paula Abdul?

In October, Cowell had called Spears “a very, very good judge.” She guided her protege, 13-year-old Carly Rose Sonenclar, to a second-place performance this season, behind winner Tate Stevens. If Brit gets the axe, at least half the ‘X Factor’ panel will need to be replaced, because fellow judge L.A. Reid is also leaving the show. No word on the fate of Demi Lovato, who said she has “no idea” whether she’ll be invited back.

If the potential loss of her job isn’t bad enough, Brit’s personal life might be falling apart as well. Rumors have been swirling that Spears and fiance Jason Trawick are fighting a lot these days. “They are pulling away from each other. Unless things change, they will split for good,” a source told the magazine.

Yikes. Someone give Britney a hug!

Britney Spears Not Coming Back For Next Season of ‘X Factor’: Report

Wenn

Wenn

Just like season one of the U.S. version of The X Factor, it appears there’s going to be yet another judge shake up. US Weekly reports that Britney Spears will not be returning for another season. According to their source, ”Producers wanted her for the long haul, but it isn’t working.” Also, apparently the producers don’t think she really earned her $15 million paycheck, as their source said, ”They [producers] paid all that for her to say ‘amazing’ and offer half-claps.”

However in terms of competition, Britney did extremely well this season as she coached the young teens, and one of her mentees, Carly Rose Sonenclar, came in second place. This news also comes off the heels of fellow judge L.A. Reid confirming he wouldn’t come back for another season. The record exec joined the cast during season one, and survived last year’s judge shake up, as former American Idol judge Paula Abdul and Pussycat Doll’s singer Nicole Scherzinger were both let go. Britney, as well as Demi Lovato, took their places.

Also, some think that a total re haul of the judges could be taking place, as Demi sent some cryptic tweets after the show’s finale. The full message of the multiple tweets reads, “I have the most incredible, supportive, loyal and genuine friends in my life today and I couldn’t be more thankful for them.. And also I’m thankful for this experience I’ve had on The X Factor USA this year.. I’m really really really gonna miss working with @LA_Reid. So many laughs and inside jokes.. Truly blessed to know you LA. Love you so much. Also I’m going to miss sitting next to the STUNNING, gorgeous and down-to-earth sweetheart @britneyspears.. Britney.. I’m gonna miss you & I will babysit anytime!!! Miss you already!! :)  And finally.. @SimonCowell. You may seem like a grumpy old man who gets on my nerves (which you are and you do) BUT.. I love you. You have an amazing heart and I’m very thankful I got the opportunity to get to know the genuine, humble and loving side of you.. I will miss making fun of you twice a week. I’ll still be doing it… Just not to your face….”

So, do you think that they both are really leaving? And if so, who should replace them? Miley Cyrus? Selena Gomez? Share your thoughts in the comments!

1D’s ‘X Factor’ Finale Performance!

‘X Factor’ Finalists to Sign With Sony

It looks as though multiple ‘X Factor‘ contestants are walking away winners after all!

Country star Tate Stevens may have beaten out fan favorite Carly Rose Sonenclar as the second season winner of the FOX show, but Sonenclar, third-place finalists Fifth Harmony, and the all-male group Emblem3 are reportedly set to ink record deals with Sony Music as well!

While the announcement of the deal won’t be made officially until 2013, it’s being said that the three, along with Stevens, will be signed to Syco Music, a record company that’s co-owned by ‘X Factor’ judge Simon Cowell and Sony Music. That label will then mesh with an even bigger Sony Music label (think Epic Records or Columbia Records) to promote each of the talent’s records.

Cowell is hoping that Fifth Harmony will blow up as an American all-girl group, and of course, everyone’s hot on Emblem3 given the success of another boy band currently blowing everyone out of the water, One Direction. “Epic and Columbia both want Emblem3,” revealed an insider. “L.A. Reid [chairman/CEO of Epic Records] is hot to sign Emblem3, but don’t count out [Columbia Records], because Columbia has One Direction. Syco has an interesting dilemma on which label to choose.”

And of course, Sonenclar is a hot commodity for Cowell, who hopes to keep her star shining as well. “With Carly Rose, Cowell wants to use a marketing strategy that was similarly used for [‘America’s Got Talent’ 2010 finalist] Jackie Evancho, who’s been very successful for Syco,” said a source. “Carly’s first album will be more pop than Jackie’s music, which is is more operatic.”

Let’s just say there will be a lot of ‘X Factor’-related music coming our way in 2013!
