The Wanted Comment on Haylor Split

The Wanted and One Direction have a little bit of a U.K. boy hand rivalry, so of course everyone that follows both bands wants to know how Jay McGuiness, Max George and the boys feel about the split between Taylor Swift and 1D’s Harry Styles (aka Haylor). Are one of those adorable dudes in the Wanted on the prowl for Swift now that she’s a single lady? Cue the Beyonce song.

Curly-topped cutie McGuiness offered his opine at Wednesday night’s (Jan. 9) People’s Choice Awards, saying that T. Swizzle should put the brakes on romance and not bounce around from guy to guy, rebound-style.

“I think she should stay single for a bit,” McGuiness told E! (quotes via Digital Spy).

Nathan Sykes suggested that Swift would be wise to funnel her Hazza heartbreak into an entire album of songs. He joked that the ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ singer should “write a whole album about [being single.]”

Yeah, that’ll never happened. Heartache is her bread and butter, and her wallet filler.

Close-cropped hunk Max George is ready to pounce on Swift, provided he puts lifts in his shoes.

“She’s a very attractive girl,” George said, bemoaning, “I’m just a bit short [for her].”

Hey, Max, she could wear flats.

Age is just a number, and so is height. Swift is 5′ 11″ to his 5′ 8″, and we think they could easily overcome three inches in the name of romance.

If you missed the Wanted at the PCAs last night, we command you to check out their speech, which featured their amazing impromptu version of ‘Afternoon Delight.’

The Wanted Receives an Unwanted Gift (VIDEO)

The Wanted

The ladies may love The Wanted, but the British boy band aren’t digging some of the gifts they find from their adoring female fans.

Tom Parker — who shot to fame with the group’s hit “Glad You Came” last year — told Celebuzz at the 2013 People Choice Awards that someone once hurled a used tampon at him during a concert.

When asked about his craziest fan experience, Parker simply quipped, “[I found] a bloody tampon onstage.”

Luckily, Parker and his bandmates – Max George, Nathan Sykes, Jay McGuiness and Siva Kaneswaran — got a much better present at Wednesday night’s award ceremony, taking home the Favorite Breakout Artist award.

“We’ve never won an award before,” Parker said to us on the red carpet before nabbing the title. “Fingers crossed!”

The group beat out Carly Rae Jepsen, Goyte, Fun. and their boy band rivals, One Direction, for the award.

“This never happens to us,” George told the crowd during the acceptance speech. “We’ve never won anything before … We never expected this at all.”

The boys also performed an impromptu acapella version of the Starland Vocal Band’s hit “Afternoon Delight,” which they had promised talk show host Ellen DeGeneres they perform if they were to win that night.

The Wanted did the cutest thing ever in the history of the People’s Choice Awards tonight!

The boys won for Favorite Breakout Artist at the 2013 PCAs and after gushing about their supporters, like Ellen DeGeneres, who had them perform on her namesake show when they were just starting out, they revealed that they promised they’d perform a song for her if they won. They kept their word and engaged in an impromptu, a capella version of ‘Afternoon Delight.’

It was hilarious, since you could tell that the boys were being prompted by unseen forces (like producers or teleprompters) to hurry up and get off the stage. They began to speed up their rendition of the song, last popularized in brilliant fashion by Ron Burgundy and his crack team of TV telecasters in ‘Anchorman.’ They started slow and by 20 seconds in, they were singing super fast like they were auditioning for ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks’ … Okay, it wasn’t that fast, but still.

The Wanted’s speech was cute, too, and you could tell they were blown away by the big win.

“We never won anything before,” member Max George said. “It shows that our fans are real troopers. A big thanks to Scooter Braun and Justin Bieber, and Island Records, and to Ellen DeGeneres for having us on her show.”

Nathan Sykes said that over the holidays, he told his “mum” he wanted to win a massive award, so this was unbelievable for him and the band.

Congrats to the Wanted!

One Direction member Harry Styles must’ve been kicking himself after getting a glimpse of Taylor Swift on the red carpet at the 2013 People’s Choice Awards. As you can see in these red carpet pictures, Swift looks smokin’ hot in her low-cut white gown, showing off more cleavage than she ever dared to before.

Meanwhile, the fellas from the Wanted looked cool and casual in their color-coordinated pants and suit jackets. On a side note — what if one of the womanizing bachelors of the Wanted set their eyes on the newly single Taylor? Seriously, it’d be hard not to hit on her in a dress like that! Wouldn’t that just really take the whole 1D vs. Wanted rivalry to an all-time-high?

Earlier on the red carpet, Lea Michele, aka Rachel Berry on ‘Glee,’ walked the red carpet in an adorable, bright pink cocktail dress. The semi-sheer, sexy mini was covered in elaborate beading and showed off Michele’s killer legs, which she topped off perfectly with a pair of strappy pink stilettos.

Check out these red carpet pictures from the 2013 People’s Choice Awards, also including photos of Maroon 5 hottie Adam Levine, and let us know what you think of these looks in the comment below!

The Wanted Hints at Two Albums in 2013

WENN

WENN

From the sounds of it, one of Teen.com’s biggest breakout stars of 2012 is scheduled to do it up big in 2013 as well. Following a disappointing album push-back, a few of the guys from The Wanted recently hinted at not one, but two albums within the next 365 days.

Jay McGuiness first explains that TW’s next CD “was meant to be this [past] Christmas, but it wasn’t ready yet so we’re thinking around April, we’ll have something ready.”

But it was Tom Parker‘s comment that threw us for a loop: “I think we’re going to do two albums, one in April and one towards the end of the year, because we’ve written quite a lot of songs this year.”

In a more current interview, Siva Kaneswaran suggests that The Wanted’s next album could even be released as early as March! He tells British TV show Top of the Pops, “We’re hoping to have our new album out by March this year… We’ve written so many tracks for it, but we’re still writing some more, so we can make it brilliant for you.” Okay, so they need to get their facts together. But it looks like March/April-ish for now, folks.

This news comes the same week The Wanted performed its hit single, “Glad You Came,” on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. In case you missed it, watch it in full below!

The Wanted Talks Feud with One Direction

The Wanted Cover Ne-Yo’s ‘Let Me Love You’

The Wanted prove time and again that they’ve got the vocal chops to sing just about anything, and they drove that point home once more with their cover of Ne-Yo‘s smash hit ‘Let Me Love You.’

While the original track builds as a club banger with a positive message, the Wanted’s version keeps the momentum of the intro to produce an uplifting piano ballad. Nathan Sykes sings the opening bars, with Jay McGuiness following, then Max George and Tom Parker taking over for the first chorus.

Their rendition picks up tempo after the first chorus, but the acoustic setting and unedited harmonies makes the song their own, and it really showcases how well each of their distinct voices work with one another. Another awesome aspect of the video? McGuiness’ too-cute, interpretative dance moves and goofy faces.
