This year’s Golden Globes just got an extra dose of star power.
Making her first post-baby appearance, Adele will return to the stage Sunday night for the 2013 Golden Globes festivities, where she is nominated for Best Original Song for the latest James Bond caper, Skyfall.
Adele’s single, “Skyfall,” will go head-to-head with Taylor Swift‘s “Safe and Sound” for The Hunger Games, Jon Bon Jovi‘s “Not Running More” for Stand Up Guys, Keith Urban‘s “For You” from Act of Valor, and “Suddenly” from Les Miserables.
Adele’s ballad also earned a nod for Best Original Song at this year’s Oscars, putting the eight-time Grammy winner within reach of her first Academy Award.
The British songstress welcomed her first child, a baby boy with boyfriend Simon Konecki, in October. Since announcing her pregnancy in June, she has maintained a extremely low profile.
Who do you think will take home the Golden Globe: Adele or T-Swift? Sound off in the comments!

2012 gave us the first-ever Marvel superhero team-up movie, the final Twilight film, the biggest James Bond movie ever and an unprecedented amount of Channing Tatum.
This year’s embarrassment of riches set the bar very high for movie fans. So before the new year tries to “out movie” the current one, Celebuzzlooks back at seven of 2012’s biggest surprises – both pleasant and not-so-much – at the movies.
This feature is not a sequel to our most memorable movie moments – which you can read here. It’s rather a general look back/taking inventory of the year that was.
2012 was a remarkable year for movies – not just financially, but artistically.
Even as The Hunger Games and The Avengers and Skyfall and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 broke records and brought in historic revenues, some of the industry’s most talented actors and filmmakers further solidified their place in the Hollywood firmament, even as newcomers introduced the world to artistic voices that deserve to be heard.
All of which made a Top Ten list that much more difficult to whittle down. Nevertheless, Celebuzz assembled an in-no-particular-order collection of films that deserve recognition at the end of year, and which we believe may stand the test of time long after their competition had disappeared from our collective memories.
As arbitrary as choosing Number Four from Number Five might be, we did elect a few titles for the top of our list, starting with The Master. Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest film was a revelation – a challenging, unique work of art that came to the screen without compromise, and which reminded us what the word auteur truly means.
Meanwhile, Leos Carax’ Holy Motors and Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained also ranked high as favorites, for their equally singular charms, and similar artistic integrity. On the other hand, films like 21 Jump Street and The Hunger Gamesalso unexpectedly joined their ranks as crowd-pleasers that don’t skimp on intelligence or emotional resonance as they engage our most primal instincts to be entertained.
Make sure you read through the gallery above for a full list of Celebuzz’ favorite films of 2012, where we mount a defense for each of them and challenge readers to check them out. In the meantime, check out our video recap of the year’s best and most memorable, and then let us know: what was your favorite film of 2012? Let the debate begin in the comments section!

Between tentpole blockbusters, limited releases and film festivals, hundreds of movies are released every year, often a dozen at a time. Friday almost invariably unleashes a whole new set of choices on moviegoers, who not only have to choose from these options, but remember what all of them are, while deflecting critical acclaim, marketing muscle, and of course just the business of their daily lives.
Five Flicks in Five Clicks is Celebuzz’ way of whittling down those choices to a comfortable number.
This week, it’s Hobbit vs. Agent this weekend as Peter Jackson‘s return to Middle Earth threatens to take the top slot from 007 himself. That said, if orcs and spies aren’t your thing, you can live the Life of Pi, wreck-it with Ralph or rise along with the Guardians for just ten bucks at the local megaplex.
Either way, we’re here with Five Flicks in Five Clicks to give you the layout of the Hollywood weekend.
This weekend, the box office is in for a massive shake-up as The Hobbit challenges James Bond for the No. 1 spot.
Peter Jackson‘s much-anticipated return to Middle Earth is the sole new release this weekend, and its expected to rake in tons of hard-earned allowance money.
Holdovers like Skyfall and Twilight: Breaking Dawn — Part 2, which have shown amazing legs at the box office for the past few weeks, are expected to bow down before Bilbo and Company. But how big will The Hobbit open?
Lord of the Rings‘ legion of fans can’t wait to see the first of three prequels set in author J.R.R. Tolkien‘s world.
The Hobbit opens in 2D, 3D, IMAX and IMAX 3D, meaning you’d have to work very hard to not see it when it hits theaters on Friday. While reviews have been mixed-to-positive for the Warner Bros. release, a franchise this beloved is virtually critic proof. Celebuzzpredicts at least a $70 million opening weekend.

James Bond’s 23rd big-screen outing is also his most lucrative, having grossed over $910 million worldwide. Skyfall reclaimed the top spot last weekend, in its fifth week of release – which is unprecedented for any film. After 50 years, audiences cannot get enough of 007, but the super spy will most likely relinquish the box office throne to Gandalf and his 13 dwarves.

This year, it felt like Hollywood believed in all of that “End of the World,” Mayan Calendar stuff, as studios released wave after wave of franchises like there was no tomorrow – and finding considerable box office success in the process.
Celebuzz rounds up the Top 10 biggest hits of the year. Which movie ranks No. 1? Read on to find out…
2012 delivered the end of the Twilight saga (for now) and the beginning of The Hunger Games. Threequels like Men in Black 3 and The Dark Knight Rises minted money, with the latter placing as one of 2012’s top five biggest earners.
At least 20 sequels entered the marketplace this year – more than ever before. Hollywood seemed to subsist solely on previously-established brands like James Bond and Spider-Man, or “intellectual property” like Hunger Games. In fact, only two films in the Top 10 this year are based on original ideas.
So what’s 2012’s biggest movie? In a minute. But first: This list reflects only the domestic grosses of theatrically-released films. (All box office figures are current as of press time.)
Which movie was your favorite this year? Sound off in the comments. And watch Celebuzz’ interview with the cast of one of 2012’s biggest hits, Breaking Dawn — Part 2, below!

Stateside, Rise of the Guardians and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2 rounded out the box office, with $10.5 million and $9.2 million in ticket sales, respectively.

Stephen Spielberg’s Lincoln and the big screen adaptation of the bestselling novel Life Of Piraked in $9.1 million and $8.3 million this weekend, respectively.

Playing for Keeps
Synopsis: Premiering this weekend, Playing for Keeps finds Gerard Butler doing his best David Beckham as a former soccer star who accepts a job coaching his son’s junior team. Hoping to repair their damaged relationship, the Hollywood rom-com curse of great talent and equal beauty stifle his attempts at maturity as the manchild is swarmed by an endless parade of fawning soccer-moms.

Skyfall
Synopsis: Three films into his turn as the millennial James Bond, Daniel Craig continues to shake and stir audiences world-wide, fleecing them for their box office receipts with all the wit and charm of a blonde-haired, blue-eyed Brit. Currently in its fourth week of release, Skyfall’s tale of spy-vs-spy remains squarely in second place as tuxedo enthusiasts and amateur sleuths infiltrate theaters for a second and third go-around with 007.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2
Synopsis: The second half of the final chapter in the Twilight saga (or, as we prefer to think of it, the prequel to 50 Shades of Grey) is still imprinting itself onto Twi-hards and confused boyfriends alike. The werewolf-vampire-zombie love triangle (the girl with no facial expression is undead, right?) is already rumored to spawn one or two more non-novel sequels, so you’ll probably want to catch up before The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 3: The Revenge hits theaters.
Celebuzz Rating & Review: “While I won’t spoil any of its surprises, the final act of this film ranks among the most surprising and satisfying of 2012, and that’s no small feat. Further, [director Bill] Condon has really pulled off something with this final installment that seemed previously impossible — namely, making a real movie, or the closest thing to it, not just a Twilight movie.”

Life of Pi
Synopsis: Based on the wildly popular novel, Life of Pi frames the story of one boy’s epic and semi-fantastical journey in the aftermath of a life-changing shipwreck as a larger metaphor for our own spiritual soul-searching. If that seems heavy and off-puttingly deep, don’t worry. There’s a friendly tiger, a phosphorescent whale and an island filled with adorable meerkats to help it all go down. Not to mention a wonderfully moving film visualized by the legendary Ang Lee.

Killing Them Softly
Synopsis: Brad Pitt plays a ruthless – whatever, it doesn’t matter, he’s so damn dreamy – in this movie about – who cares, can’t you get lost in those smoky eyes? Even at this most violent, bloodied and rugged in Andrew Dominik’s post-recession, blue-collar mob movie, Pitt manages not only to steal the screen, but to fill it with personality and bravado. Opening last week to a relatively low-ranking seventh place at the box office, this intensely visual and finely acted crime film crackles with sharp-tongued dialogue and sleekly photographed gunplay.

This weekend at the movies, it’s soccer-themed romantic comedy versus vampire-werewolf love story versus James Bond!
Gerard Butler‘s new movie, Playing for Keeps, is the sole new release arriving in theaters this weekend, where it will face-off against popular holdovers Twilight: Breaking Dawn — Part 2 and Skyfall. Will the 300 star and his legion of soccer mom fans be enough to defeat Team Edward?
Celebuzz wants you to weigh in on this weekend’s battle at the box office.
Keeps casts Butler as a 40-something womanizer opposite Jessica Biel in this coming-of-age late in life story. Given Keeps‘ soft marketing push, Butler and his loyal fanbase face an uphill battle if they want to dethrone Breaking Dawn — Part 2 from the No. 1 spot, where it has reigned for the last three weeks.

With less than a month until 2013, the new year’s slate of films is already starting to breathe down 2012′s neck. Which means it’s time to roll out some year-end nostalgia for those movie moments that made 2012 a memorable one at the box office.
From Hunger Games to Twilght, Batman to Bond, this year delivered plenty of memorable scenes worthy of our hard-earned allowance money. Celebuzz has selected 16 scenes from this year’s theatrical releases that best define 2012.
This feature kicks off a series of articles on Celebuzz looking back on the year in film. This is not necessarily a list of the year’s best films – that’s on the way – rather, this is a list of scenes that best represent why going to the movies this year was worthwhile.
George Clooney has already enlisted James Bond for his next film. Now, he’s looking to recruit Jason Bourne.
Matt Damon is in talks to join the period thriller The Monuments Men, a film directed and co-written by the Oscar winner, according to Deadline.
The Bourne Ultimatum star is negotiating for an unspecified role in the World War II flick, which centers on a crew of art historians that must infiltrate Nazi Germany to retrieve valuable art stolen by the Third Reich.
Clooney wrote the script with producing partner and writer Grant Heslov (Good Night, and Good Luck). Monuments Men reunites Damon and Clooney, who were last seen together onscreen in 2007’s Ocean’s 13.
