Britney Spears Splits from Fiance Jason Trawick (REPORT)

Britney Spears And Jason Trawick

UPDATE 5:05 PM:  Britney Spears and Jason Trawick confirmed their break-up with PEOPLE: “Britney Spears and Jason Trawick have mutually agreed to end their one-year engagement,” her rep Jeff Raymond told the magazine. “As two mature adults, they came to the difficult decision to go their separate ways while continuing to remain friends.”

Spears and Trawick also released their own statements: ”Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement,” Spears said. “I’ll always adore him and we will remain great friends.”

Trawick added: “As this chapter ends for us a new one begins. I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever.”

Britney Spears has split with her fiancé Jason Trawick.

TMZ is reporting that the couple have called time on their relationship since getting engaged in December 2011.

Trawick, who used to be the singer’s agent, acted as co-conservator of her assets along with the singer’s father Jamie Spears.

Lawyers for the pop star are in a Los Angeles court today to discuss the status of her conservatorship, which could now result in Trawick withdrawing his interest.

It has been a dramatic week for the Princess of Pop who also confirmed today that she won’t be returning for a second season on The X Factor, Celebuzz previously reported.

“I’ve made the very difficult decision not to return for another season,” Spears said in a statement obtained by Celebuzz. “I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens, but it’s time for me to get back in the studio.”

According to the website’s report, the couple remain friends and decided to call it quits because “they had grown apart.”

The 31-year-old mother of two started dating Trawick, 40, after her divorce in 2007 from ex-husband Kevin Federline.

A rep for Spears did not return a request for comment.

Britney Spears Makes ‘The X Factor’ Exit Official

Britney Spears leaves X Factor

Britney Spears has officially taken her final bow as a judge on The X Factor.

In light of rampant reports this week that the songstress is leaving the popular singing competition show, the 31-year-old has confirmed today she won’t be back for a second season, Celebuzz has confirmed.

Instead, she wants to get back to the music that made her the Princess of Pop.

“I’ve made the very difficult decision not to return for another season,” Spears said in a statement obtained by Celebuzz. “I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens, but it’s time for me to get back in the studio.

“Watching them all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much!” she added. “I can’t wait to get back out there and do what I love most.”

Celebuzz was the first to report that planning meetings for Season 3 of The X Factor have been underway and the “Toxic” singer’s participation going forward wasn’t on the agenda.

So what will the singing sensation tackle next?

The rumor mill is already buzzing that the blonde beauty will hit the Las Vegas stage to perform in her very own Celine Dion-style show, with a source telling Celebuzz that die-hard Brit fans could see her take over the main stage mic sooner than we think.

“She is very interested in a Vegas residency,” a source close to the singer told Celebuzz, “and is in serious talks with one of the major casino groups.”

Watch Selena Gomez + Simon Cowell Read Mean Tweets About Themselves

Since Twitter is the No. 1 way to insult celebrities directly, late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel once again asked celebs to read mean tweets about themselves. This time, Selena Gomez, Simon Cowell, Jessica Biel, Anderson Cooper and Dr. Phil, among others, were invited to read react to mean tweets.

Gomez’s music was insulted while Cowell was called an expletive. No surprise there. It was funny when he got fake choked up over it.

‘X Factor’ Judge Britney Spears Reportedly Being Fired: Which Pop Star Should Replace Her? (POLL)

First it was Paula Abdul, then Nicole Sherzinger, and now it looks like Britney Spears may be the next The X Factor judge to get the axe from its co-creator Simon Cowell.

After wrapping its second season — and Spears’ first — on Dec. 20, Cowell is ready to fire the blonde pop star from the FOX singing competition series, as reported by Us Weekly.

A show rep tells Celebuzz that “no one has discussed next year’s judging panel yet – any reports otherwise are complete speculation.”

But if the news is true, who should replace the Princess of Pop: PinkRihanna, Gwen Stefani, Miley Cyrus, and Katy Perry top our list of candidates.

Take our poll below to cast your vote.

According to the magazine, producers of the show wanted to give the “Toxic” songstress a real chance at being a staple on the judge panel, but it isn’t quite working out. And Spears hasn’t been living up to her $15 million contract.

The producers of the show had hoped that the mother of two – Preston, 7, and Jayden, 6 — would portray her “crazy” self from the panel, but instead she hasn’t been providing the emotional responses they  hoped for.

L.A. Reid announced earlier this month that he will also be leaving The X Factor, but Demi Lovato seems to be a keeper for now.

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post’s poll.

Who should join the panel with Lovato and Cowell?

Is Fifth Harmony About to Get a Record Deal From Simon Cowell?

Fifth Harmony
YouTube

Even though Fifth Harmony placed third on Thursday night’s finale of ‘X Factor,’ the all-girl group need not fear for their futures in the music biz, because it looks like their mentor Simon Cowell is about to give them a helping hand!

Hollywoodlife.com was on hand for the finale and had the chance to speak with Cowell himself, and the big-time industry man revealed a darling little secret in the form of a potential record deal, which is sure to make all Fifth Harmony fans squeal in excitement.

“There is such a market now for this girl band I believe, I think where there’s boybands there’ll be girl bands,” said Cowell. “We may have someone who can fit that gap!”

And while this proves especially good for the girl group in a time where boy bands are on the rise yet again, they’re not alone in signing a contract! Another of Cowell’s groups from ‘X Factor’ will also be getting a record deal, and it’s none other than heartthrobs Emblem3!

With the news of both contracts coming around Christmastime, not only does it make it the perfect gift for each member of the respective bands, but also for those who are about to come into some money during the holiday season.

It looks like pop music is about to explode in 2013 — as if it could explode anymore given One Direction‘s insane fame. So save your cash, guys! New music seems to be heading our way very soon!

Rihanna, Kristen Stewart, Ke$ha: Top 10 Celebrity Quotes of the Week (GALLERY)

“It’s not a terrible thing if you’re either loved or hated. But honestly, I don’t care ’cause it doesn’t keep me from doing my s–t.”

Which Hollywood rebel-chick said she doesn’t give a damn about her reputation?

Was it Rihanna, Kristen Stewart or Ke$ha?

Find out in Celebuzz’s top quotes of the week.

Who was the young starlet that showed a glimpse of her thick skin?

It was Kristen Stewart!

The On the Road star has been dragged through the mud since news broke of her cheating scandal with her married Snow White and the Huntsman director (Rupert Sanders) back in July. But in an interview with Newsweek, she publicly acknowledged the issue that she has kept quiet about for months.

“I apologize to everyone for making them so angry. It was not my intention,” Stewart continued.

The apology came this week as we stare down the New Year. Could it be that Stewart is ready to move on from all the bad press and turn over a new leaf?

It sure seems that way — and she’s taking it one step at a time.

“It’s a little annoying having to be so compartmentalized. I go from box to box to box. Like right now, this is so crazy ’cause we’re out at a restaurant,” she told the magazine. “But I’m going out a lot more now. I was starting to get closed off and self-conscious, and I’m trudging forth into the world more often.”

We’re rooting for you, KStew! Hopefully this year will be a fresh start for the 22-year-old actress. After all, she and once-wounded beau Robert Pattinson seem to have patched things up.

Do you think Stewart can leave the past in 2012, or will it follow her into the new year? Sound off in the comments below.

‘X Factor’s’ Simon Cowell Says Fifth Harmony ‘Reminds Me of One Direction’ (VIDEO)

Fifth Harmony were the underdogs going into the finale of FOX’s The X Factor, but when it counted they began to impress viewers.

“I think they’ve had the hardest thing to overcome, because they weren’t a group,” Simon Cowell told reporters after Wednesday’s show of the group formed by the judges.

“They work really, really hard and in the last two weeks I could feel a change when people finally got [them].” he continued. “They changed their names three times. They didn’t know each other three months ago. But, for them to gel in the way that they did and how they performed tonight, it was incredible. They looked like proper pop stars.”

In fact, the talent show’s judge and executive producer said they remind him of another group who actually didn’t win their season of The X Factor UK, but went on to big things.

“They remind me of One Direction in terms of their personalities,” Cowell told us. “They’re fun to work with, hardworking, opinionated, but that’s what you want with a group. And I think there’s a gap in the market for a girl group like this.”

Simon says Fifth Harmony did “brilliantly” in their finale performances and he admits he owes part of that to fellow judge and sometime combatant, Demi Lovato.

“I was amazed how well Demi sang on the duet,” he said with a smirk about the performance of “Give Your Heart a Break.” “I mean she wanted to prove a point. And I said to her, ‘You had your little diva moment, didn’t you?’ She was terrific. It went according to plan. I always think after, ‘Could I have done more? Could the girls have done more?’ I don’t think we could have done any more.”

The X Factor Season 2 finale results airs Thursday at 8 PM on FOX – with guest performers One Direction.

Does Fifth Harmony deserve the win?

‘X Factor’s’ Simon Cowell Talks L.A. Reid’s Departure: ‘I Will Miss Him’

Just before last Thursday’s episode of FOX’s The X Factor, judge L.A. Reid announced that he isn’t returning to the talent competition next season.

Just days later, Reid joined fellow judges Simon Cowell, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato for a finale week press conference on Monday at the show’s Los Angeles soundstage with finalists Fifth Harmony, Carly Rose Sonenclar and Tate Stevens.

When asked whether they would miss Reid, Spears and Lovato simply said they would. Cowell, though, joked about the prospect of picking Reid’s replacement. “Anything Could Happen,” Cowell, who’s also an executive producer on the series, smiled.

Later, when asked if we’re in for a big shift on Season 3, Cowell commented on Reid’s exit again. “I don’t sit here plotting next year,” he started.

“On a personal level, I’m going to miss L.A.,” he later added. “And on a business level, I’m going to miss him because he’s a brilliant record maker.”

For now, he says he wants to focus on this week’s season finale and “the contestants sitting at the table, because they need this. It’s a fantastic break for all of them.”

Clearly, Cowell had high hopes this year after landing the “Princess of Pop” who definitely became an attraction for viewers wanting to see what Spears was like nowadays and for her fans who just wanted to see as much as they could of their icon.

But, despite Spears and Disney Channel grad Lovato joining the judging panel and the revamped (at times over-produced) new reality-style audition episodes, ratings still took a beating with the show attracting less than eight million viewers to its semifinal elimination episode last week.

“We were expecting that there was going to be a problem with the ratings this year. Not just with us, but with everything, because it’s overkill,” Cowell explained. “There are way, way too many talent shows on.”

“I’ve done this for 10 years,” he added. “I’ve had dips over the years. We’ve come back the following years where other shows died off. We got stronger. The thing that’s most important is the legacy you leave behind each year. The legacy that we’re going to leave behind, the talent, not just with these three but also with artists like Emblem3. That’s what we’re judged on.”

The X Factor’s Season 2 finale episodes air Wednesday and Thursday at 8 PM on FOX.

How do you feel about L.A. leaving? Do you think the show’s lower ratings are due to having too many talents shows on TV as Simon suggests? Weigh in below.

Is Simon Cowell Trying to Get Rihanna + Chris Brown on the ‘X Factor’ Panel?

Does Simon Cowell have rocks in his head? Yes, but the sparkly kind. The ‘X Factor‘ judge and creator reportedly is eyeing Rihanna for his panel … as well as another pop star that will raise even more eyebrows: Chris Brown.

The Sun reports that Cowell loves RiRi’s vivacious personality in addition to being a fan of her music, and he thinks she can save the struggling ratings on the Fox series, be it here or across the pond. With L.A. Reid and possibly Britney Spears leaving after this season, he may need a big name to prop the show up.

“Simon is a huge admirer of Rihanna and knows she’s star quality,” a source told the tab. “As well as bringing an aura to the panel thanks to her current standing in music, she is also feisty and will make great TV. Simon loves these sort of characters.”

But it doesn’t stop there. A source added that Cowell is also considering Brown for a part on the panel. (Considering his recent excursions with ex Karrueche Tran, that may not end well for anyone involved.) “The U.S. ‘X Factor’ has improved on the first season’s ratings but it’s got some way to go to reach Simon’s expectations,” the source dished. “Adding Chris to the panel will certainly create a talking point.”

While Breezy may prove more trouble than he’s worth (can you imagine the protests and petitions this will garner?), Rihanna has a rapport with Cowell. The ‘We Found Love’ singer joined him for the judges’ houses episodes on the stateside series. Still, her grueling schedule may prove a tough one to deal with in terms of production — and her U.K. series ‘Styled to Rock’ was a ratings flop.

Do you think Rihanna or Chris Brown would be good on the ‘X Factor’ panel? Sound off in the comments!
