Get ready for some silky-smooth musical stylings as Reese Witherspoon and Michael Bublé are set to duet!
The Canadian crooner has confirmed that he will be working with the actress on a duet for his upcoming sixth studio album, due to hit shelves next year.
“By all accounts it would be true,” Bublé told U.K. TV show Daybreak of teaming up with Witherspoon.
“I just really am a big fan,” he continued. “And so myself and my camp, we wanted to do this with her, and we were thrilled that she was excited about it too.”
Though first and foremost an actress, Witherspoon has shown off her singing chops in the past. She famously put her pipes to the test playing June Carter Cash — and even snagged an Oscar for the role — opposite Joaquin Phoenix in 2005 biopic Walk the Line, a chronicle of country music legend Johnny Cash‘s life.
Though she took voice lessons ahead of time, Witherspoon told MTV News that singing for the film’s soundtrack was “the most challenging, horrifying experience of my life.” Nevertheless, seems Witherspoon is ready to return to the recording studio.
But this Witherspoon-Bublé pairing is certainly not the first unforeseen celebrity duet. From Jessica Simpson‘s Christmas collaboration with Ozzy Osbourne, to Eminem and Elton John teaming up at the Grammys, to Celine Dion and R. Kelly‘s chart-blazing single, look back at some of the more surprising musical collaborations over the years in the gallery — above.
