Beyonce Announces New Destiny’s Child Single, Greatest Hits Album

Destiny's Child Love Songs
Sony Legacy

For those of you hankering to hear some new music from Destiny’s Child you are in luck. Beyonce just announced on her Facebook page that a new song titled ‘Nuclear’ will appear on the group’s greatest hits compilation ‘Love Songs.’

‘Nuclear’ is the trio’s first new track in over eight years. The song was produced by Pharrell Williams and co-written by DC member Michelle Williams (no relation to Pharrell). No word on when the song will hit the Internet, but you can pre-order the album, which will be available on Jan. 29, at Amazon.com. ‘Love Songs’ is a greatest-hits collection featuring Destiny’s Child’s most romantic ballads recorded between 1997 and 2004.

A$AP Rocky Discusses ‘Long.Live.A$AP’ Collabs + Goals for 2013

A$AP Rocky
YouTube

In 2012, A$AP Rocky (real name Rakim Mayers) took the music and fashion world by storm with his hybrid hip-hop sound and unique sense of fashion style. The 24-year-old Harlem native is ready to kick off 2013 on a high note with his debut album, ‘Long.Live.A$AP,’ due in stores Jan. 15.

A year ago, Rocky was virtually unknown until he dropped his hard-hitting mixtape ‘Live.Love.A$AP,’ which was celebrated by music bloggers and tastemakers alike. Record labels started calling, and Rocky inked with Polo Grounds Music, under the RCA-Sony banner.

And a star was born.

Not bad for kid who has experienced some tough times growing up in Harlem, U.S.A. But Rocky’s steely confidence and perseverance has enabled him to survive, hence the A$AP moniker, which stands for “Always Strive and Prosper.”

Rocky’s new album, ‘Long.Live.A$AP,’ is a great hip-hop album that should make his core fans happy. One of the most-talked about songs on the collection is his posse track ‘1 Train,’ which features an all-star of well-versed emcees Kendrick Lamar, Big K.R.I.T., Joey BadA$$, Action Bronson and Yelawolf.

The self-proclaimed “Dat Pretty Motherf—er” talked to PopCrush about his new album, his upcoming tour with Rihanna, and what he’s looking to accomplish in 2013. (Note: This interview was conducted before A$AP Rocky’s father passed away. We send our heartfelt condolences to his family.)

Congratulations on your success in 2012. I’m sure you’re happy that the album is finally coming out after a long delay.
Thank you. Yeah, I’m glad man. I’m happy that people will finally get to hear what I’ve been working on this whole time.

First off we have to talk about the posse track ’1 Train.’ That song is crazy. How did the idea come about for that incredible song?
It was my idea. I just wanted people to hear a posse cut that no one has ever heard before in a long time.

Were all of them in the studio together? Was it competitive?
Well, some of us were [in the studio together]. I wasn’t in the studio with [Big] K.R.I.T. and Yelawolf. Of course, it was competitive [in the booth], but that’s what hip-hop is about. It’s all love, though, at the end of the day.

Your album, ‘Long.Live.A$AP,’ has some interesting collaborations. You have a song ‘I Come Apart’ with Florence Welch from Florence + the Machine. Were you a fan of their music?
Honestly, I was never into them until they reached out. I knew about them because they won Grammys and stuff. After that I got into them. It was great working with them on that song.

And you have a song with Skrillex called ‘Wild for the Night,’ which might surprise a few people with that collaboration.
Skrillex is my boy. We just wanted to create a song for those wild parties and stuff, you know?

We loved the haunting track ‘Phoenix’ with producer Danger Mouse.
Yeah, I was familiar with his music through Gnarls Barkley — ‘The Odd Couple’ album and stuff. I really wanted to work with him. So I hope people will dig the record.

You also have a song called ‘Fashion Killa.’ Since you have been killing the game with your unique fashion style, will there ever be a A$AP clothing line in the future?
No…no…no. I’m cool on that.

Was there any particular event in 2012 that was most memorable for you?
Completing my project for one. Performing for the first time at different award shows was memorable. My first time performing on big records with Usher [‘Hot Thing’], Lil Wayne, Rihanna [‘Cockiness’] and touring with Drake. It’s been a good year for me.

What about grabbing Rihanna’s booty at the MTV Video Music Awards? That was the most memorable grab of 2012.
You funny, bruh. She’s the homie, though.

Are you excited about touring with Rihanna on her Diamonds World Tour? Will there be any pyrotechnics with your stage show?
I’m very excited about that, it’s going to be fun. I don’t know about all that other stuff. I don’t know.

Have you and Rihanna discussed what your plans are going to be on the trek?
Not yet, maybe next year we’ll talk.

Oh, and congratulations on the signing of A$AP Ferg to Sony Music.
Thank you, thank you. I’m real happy for him. He’s next in line, so look out for him.

On a separate note, what do you think about the sudden rise of Trinidad James? He’s currently experiencing the same kind of buzz you had a couple of years ago. What advice would give him because all eyes are watching him right now?
Honestly, I feel that the rap game needs more creative people like him, who are coming in and doing their own thing, ya feel me? But also I feel, like, a lot of people get to a certain stage and then they flop or fumble the ball and everything is f—ed up. If I had any advice for him, it’s don’t lose it, hang in there and don’t lose your head.

Finally, what are your goals for 2013?
I want to stay out of trouble and keep making creative s—, ya feel me? I want people to go buy my album and listen to it. I really worked hard on it and I’m really proud of myself. Enjoy it.

Jennifer Lopez Confirms Release of New Album

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez won’t be a judge on ‘American Idol‘ in 2013, but she still thinks this year is full of “infinite possibilities.” On New Year’s Eve, she sent out a tweet that conveyed her excitement for the year and confirmed one important piece of information: She has a new album coming!

Album No. 10, which remains untitled, will be the follow-up to 2011′s ‘Love?,’ which re-established J.Lo’s rightful position among the world’s top dance-pop artists. RedOne is executive-producing the record and gave MTV the scoop about the new music.

“We already have songs that are just incredible,” he said. “It’s just amazing. It’s mixed [styles]. It’s everything about Jennifer Lopez… It’s a very special album. It feels like this album, to us, has to have everything about her, not just one thing. You’re going to have all the sides, kind of urban/hip-hop and the commercial, like the way she did with Ja Rule. It’s everything you love about her: the dance, the rhythmic, the Latin.”

J. Lo and RedOne worked together on a handful of songs on ‘Love?,’ including the lead single ‘On the Floor,’ and also teamed up for ‘Dance Again,’ the Pitbull collabo from Lopez’s most recent hits collection.

Justin Bieber Reveals Previously Unreleased Tracks on ‘Believe Acoustic’

Justin Bieber Believe Acoustic
Twitter

Pretty much everything Justin Bieber says, does or tweets is under an extra strong microscope now in light of his marijuana photo leak. As a result, he’s not only being careful, but also crafty in what he shares with fans and press. Using the exposure to his advantage, the ‘Boyfriend’ singer tweeted a newer album cover for ‘Believe Acoustic,’ and we now know which two previously unreleased tracks are featured on the EP.

Perhaps knowing he has a job to do, Biebs wrote, “Focused. #BELIEVEacoustic” and tweeted an image of the ‘Believe Acoustic’ album cover, this time with fun label additions of what tracks were included on the album.

In addition to the tracks that were already in the original track listing that we found for you on Dec. 22, ‘Believe Acoustic’ will also feature two previously unreleased tracks. The songs are called ‘Yellow Raincoat’ and ‘I Would.’

‘I Would’ is also a One Direction song. Is it a cover? An original? A mashup? We’re pretty excited to find out!

A difference between this and the leaked original tracklisting is that this label didn’t list ‘She Don’t Like the Lights.’ That doesn’t mean it won’t be included, of course, but it’s not being shipped as a selling point.

The one piece of information we still don’t have? What in the world the mysterious ‘Track 8′ will be. Biebs loves surprising his Beliebers, so it’s a safe bet that we won’t find out until ‘Believe Acoustic’ hits shelves on Jan. 29.

Did Lady Gaga Reveal ‘Burqa’ As an ‘ARTPOP’ Song Title?

Lady Gaga may have released Episode 8 of her Monster Vision series, titled ‘Oh! You Pretty Things,’ in September, but only recently have little monsters begun decoding what they think are hidden messages in it. It seems the Mother Monster may have revealed an ‘ARTPOP’ title.

While the clip features the Mother Monster twirling around for three minutes, wearing all sorts of outrageous couture fashions paired with mega sunglasses and neck breaker heels, there’s a moment at 2:58 in where she is posing for a selfie with photographer Terry Richardson. She stops and asks him, “Are you singing ‘Burqa?’” It caused a flurry of little monsters to discuss whether or not that is an ‘ARTPOP’ song title.

The information about ‘ARTPOP’ comes in piecemeal form, so little monsters are looking for something to feast on. She was teasing ‘Cake‘ left and right and then it … stopped. Then, the rumor that Gaga and Beyonce were re-teaming for the sequel to their smash hit ‘Telephone’ with ‘Ratchet,’ which would include an assist from up and coming, rap “It” girl Azealia Banks, caught fire last week.

Since Gaga is not sharing too many concrete details regarding ‘ARTPOP,’ monsters are looking to glom onto any little detail they can. Like this one.

‘ARTPOP’ cryptics and mysteries aside, Ma Monster also chugs a beer right before she drops the name ‘Burqa.’ She really knows how to pound ‘em and toss one back.

Rita Ora Will Bring Plenty of Surprises on U.S. Debut Album in 2013

Rita Ora had quite a year with the U.K. release of her debut album ‘ORA’ and her chart-topping hits ‘How We Do (Party)’ and ‘R.I.P.’ So when will she release her LP stateside?! Chill, it’s coming, promises the Roc Nation songbird.

Ora has been working diligently on new songs for her U.S. debut album and teased that a couple of Roc Nation artists might join her on the collection. “There’s a few surprises. I don’t want to give them away, but it’s definitely in the Roc family,” she told MTV News. “2013 is really important for me because it’s gonna to be the first time the U.S. hears my official album and I wanted to put a few extra tracks on there and make it really special. So I’m basically giving you guys a whole new album of new material.”

Awesome! We can only guessimate which Roc Nation artist will appear on her album, but a duet with J. Cole and her boss, Jay-Z, would make us giddy here in the office. We have been waiting with bated breath on Ora’s new album, so we’re glad that it will drop in 2013.

As for any new plans this year, the 22-year-old blonde bombshell is coy with her answer, but it sounds very promising. “2013′s got a lot of things I want to achieve. There’s a lot of kind of plans and ideas that are gonna come out in 2013,” she says.

Flo Rida Promises ‘Masterpieces’ on Next Record

Flo Rida
Chris McKay, Getty Images

You may think you’ve drawn up a pretty tough list of New Year’s resolutions for 2013, but Flo Rida‘s probably got you beat: As he told Billboard during a recent interview, “I’m taking over.”

It’s all part of a yearlong pop culture assault that he says will include “getting into some acting” as well as “traveling the world” and “doing some touring” — as well as his upcoming fifth album, which boasts a surprising influence: The King of Pop.

“You know, I actually got a chance to do some recording in the same studio where Michael Jackson did ‘Thriller,’” he revealed. For many artists, clocking time in such a hallowed environment might have created a little added pressure to perform, but not Rida. In fact, he claims it helped inspire some of his best material, saying, “We did some work in there and I came up with like seven masterpieces.”

Some musicians spend their whole careers working toward just one masterpiece, so it’s exciting to hear that Flo Rida will be packing at least seven on his next record. Of course, he’ll need to do something special to top the performance of his last LP, ‘Wild Ones’ — as Billboard points out, that album’s hot streak of long-lasting hits made Rida the magazine’s Number 2 artist of the year, and its fourth single, ‘I Cry,’ is still in the Top 10.

Which 2013 Album Are You Anticipating Most? – Readers Poll

Lady Gaga Eminem Miley Cyrus Lil Wayne Selena Gomez

2013 is shaping up to be a great year for music already. There are a lot of amazing new albums due out in 2013, and we’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of fresh tunes from a number of our favorite international divas, teen queens, boy bands, Brits, and big-time rappers. We’ve narrowed down the list of new releases for 2013 and we want to know which album you’re most excited about!

While many of the 2013 LPs remain unconfirmed, being that they are still in the developmental stages and/or are in the process of recording, it’s pretty much certain that Beyonce, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus and Avril Lavigne will dish out a serving of fresh jams this year. While all of these names have our ears perking, we cannot wait to hear what Beyonce, Brit, Mariah and Miley have in store, mostly because everything Bey and Brit touches turns to gold, and Mariah and Miley haven’t released new material in quite some time, so we’re anxious to see how their sound has morphed over these years.

The aforementioned vocalists may have ‘TBA’ as their titles for now, but one album name that has been confirmed is Lady Gaga‘s highly-anticipated ‘ARTPOP.’ Mama Monster has been teasing her latest musical masterpiece for months now, and the two-volume, “risky” LP is sure to be intriguing (Gaga called it an “assault on your ears ) and one of the biggest releases of 2013.

Another superstar artist that has confirmed their album title is Justin Bieber, who is dropping the acoustic version of his ‘Believe’ LP in Jan. 2013. And speaking of heartthrobs… Jonas Brothers have a new album due out 2013, which will likely include new songs like ‘Wedding Bells’ (which they wrote about Miley Cyrus). Also joining the list of  boy bands with new albums in 2013 are five-piece British-Irish act the Wanted, who will drop ‘Third Strike’ in 2013, as well as Backstreet Boys, who have reunited and will unleash their first album as a quintet since 2005!

Additionally, you can expect fresh tunes from Paramore (their self-titled LP expected to drop in April 2013), Jessie J, Rita Ora, ASAP Rocky (‘LongLiveAsap’ will be officially released in Jan. 2013), Nicki Minaj (‘Pink Friday: The Pinkprint’), Azealia Banks (‘Broke With Expensive Taste’) and Lil Wayne (‘I Am Not a Human Being II’). Finally, we’d be surprised not to hear a new batch of tracks from Eminem, Jay-Z and Kanye West, who have all been in the studio as of late.

Check out this list of upcoming releases for 2013 and vote for the artist you’re most excited to hear new songs from!
