From dressing up in Santa suits, to fawning over trimmed trees, to loving on their little ones, celebrities celebrated Christmas by sharing their special moments on Twitter.
While some enjoyed snowy scenery and others soaked up the sun in warmer climates, stars like Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera and Miley Cyrus rejoiced the coming of good ol’ Saint Nick with family, friends and plenty of festivities.
Others opted out of a traditional White Christmas, instead hitting exotic locales for a holiday getaway. Stylist-to-the-stars Rachel Zoe took in some rays on the beaches of St. Barts, on vacation with her husband Roger Berman and their son Skyler.
Jessica Simpson marked a very merry Christmas by confirming she’s expecting her second child with fiancé Eric Johnson. “Merry Christmas from my family to yours!” she shared with a snap of 7-month-old daughter Maxwell sitting next to the words “Big Sis” etched in the Hawaiian sand.

With the holidays in full swing throughout the country, the First Family turned to Hollywood to help light things up at the nation’s capitol.
President Barack Obama — along with First Lady Michelle (who also celebrated her recent Grammy nod) and their daughters Malia and Sasha — brought on board a number of celebs for the 90th annual tree lighting on Thursday evening, beginning the official start of the holiday season in Washington, D.C.
With Neil Patrick Harris presiding over the ceremony, stars such as Modern Family actor Rico Rodriguez, the Fray, Jason Mraz, Colbie Caillat, James Taylor and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds treated 17,000 spectators to fun-filled performances at the Ellipse, a 52-acre park located between the White House and the National Mall.
Although he officially secured his reelection in November, the POTUS couldn’t help but crack one last political joke before kicking off the annual tradition:
“Our tree has been having a hard time recently. This is our third one in as many years,” Obama remarked about 28-foot-tall blue spruce. “It just goes to show, nobody’s job is safe.”
Looks like the Commander-in-Chief’s festive spirit stood unwavered: the Obamas, Harris and the rest of the group closed out the night with a rousing rendition of “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.” Oh, what fun, indeed!

Volunteering at the Los Angeles Mission has become somewhat of a Thanksgiving tradition for celebrities in Hollywood.
This year, the honor went to Neil Patrick Harris and Malin Akerman, who were photographed handing out food to those less fortunate at the Mission on Wednesday.
They join a long list of celebrities who have given back on Thanksgiving. Just last year, Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Love-Hewitt gave back, while Zoe Saldana and Glee’s Naya Rivera did it in 2009.
In honor of Thanksgiving, Celebuzz is taking a look back at those in Tinsel Town who have given back on this food-driven holiday.

“Coming out” has always been in tough in Hollywood — but nowadays, celebrities are having an easier time declaring their sexual orientation thanks to numerous campaigns — like Dan Savages‘ It Gets Better — encouraging acceptance.
This year was a big year for the GLBT community as President Barack Obama officially declared his support on same-sex marriage.
“I’ve just concluded for me personally, it is important for me to affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married,” the Commander in Chief told ABC News on Wednesday, May 9.
Who in Hollywood has also spoke up for the gay community since then?
CNN anchor Anderson Cooper — whose sexuality has been under the microscope for years — finally came out in a letter to The Daily Beast.
“The fact is, I’m gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn’t be any more happy, comfortable with myself, and proud,” he wrote.
Zac Efron’s most recent job – teaching patience to Elmo. The star, who can be seen in the upcoming film, The Paperboy, hit up Sesame Street this week to play basketball with everyone’s favorite red monster from the show.
Elmo is very anxious to start playing but Efron is busy trying to tell everyone the word of the day – “Patience.” As a perfect example for learning the word, our furry friend is having a tough time and needs Efron to tell him, “You have to wait in a calm way, you have to show patience.”
Efron, 24, is just one of many celebrities who are hanging on Sesame Street during the landmark show’s 43rd season. Other guest stars set during this season include Kristen Bell, David Beckham, Halle Berryand many more.
What other celebrities have shown up on the Street over the years?
Many celebs often help children learn the word of the day on Sesame Street. Emma Stone has appeared to demonstrate the word “balance” while Jude Law had fun explaining the word, “cling.” Sofia Vergara even made an appearance to describe the Spanish word “baile.”
Other stars have gone on the show to sing songs such as Adam Sandler, who made up his own song about Elmo. Neil Patrick Harris, who has appeared on the program multiple times, recently sang a song about the things that make him happy including pajamas.

Less than two months before Election Day, Hollywood is telling you: “We will vote!”
In a brand-new PSA from Rock the Vote — the nonpartisan group that enlists celebrities in efforts to encourage young Americans to get to the polls — stars like Miley Cyrus, Kathy Griffin and Neil Patrick Harris are rallying for voters to make their voice count.
Directed by Step Up‘s Adam Shankman, the video — which doesn’t skew toward either party or presidential candidate — delivers a clear message from the politically-active celebrities: “We will.”
Who chimes in?
“We will be counted,” says So You Think You Can Dance‘s Twitch. “We will matter,” adds Joel McHale. ”We will stand out ground,” declares Cyrus. ”We will be brave,” proclaims Josh Duhamel. ”We will be heard,” announces Glee star Jenna Ushkowitz.
Spliced between the stars’ testimonials, Shankman features shadowy figures striding into a voting booth. And in his true directorial style, he highlights some smooth choreography, with a clan of dancers breaking it down.

Everything is better in pairs — especially for new parents Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, who welcomed twins into the world.
“The babies were born a few weeks early, but are in good health and both Mom and Dad are overjoyed,” said a joint statement from their reps on Wednesday.
And the True Blood costars-turned-lovers certainly aren’t the first celebrities to get a double delivery from the stork.
Parker and Broderick didn’t want to settle for one offspring: In June 20092, the Sex and the City star and her actor hubby welcomed twin girls Marion Loretta and Tabitha Hodge via surrogate, joining big brother James Wilkie.
And Brangelina added to their seemingly ever-growing brood in July 2008, when the actress gave birth to fraternal twins Vivienne and Knox in Nice, France.
Find out what other celebrities have dealt with twice the diaper duty in Celebuzz’s gallery.
