Bruno Mars Strikes Rat Pack Pose on Flaunt Cover

If you’ve got it, Flaunt it! That’s just what crooner Bruno Mars does in his Flaunt magazine cover. The ‘Locked Out of Heaven’ singer strikes a Rat Pack pose on the cover and in the accompanying images, which are black and white, and are styled as though they came from another era.

Dressed in a belted suit on the actual cover and wearing his signature hats and layers of jewelry in the inside images, Mars is a sharp-dressed man. No wonder he is getting profiles in multiple fashion magazines, like InStyle.

The most provocative photo is when the female model sticks her fingers in his mouth, like a gun. It’s certainly enough to get tongues wagging and chatter going on the Interwebs.

The spread is themed to show the slightly badass side of Mars as well. He’s putting up his dukes, throwing bills in the street, flashing his bling, setting fire to paper (of the monetary sort) and looking pensive. Mars has upped his game in terms of image with ‘Unorthodox Jukebox,’ positioning himself as a true leading man.

We’re loving the noir look of this shoot.

Beyonce vs. Rihanna: Who Has the Sexiest GQ Cover? – Readers Poll

Beyonce GQ Cover Rihanna GQ Cover
GQ (2)

Somebody get us a cold towel, because we are burning up from looking at these pictures of Beyonce and Rihanna! Both of the R&B beauties shed their clothes for the cover of GQ, with Rihanna taking off a little bit more than the barely covered Beyonce.

It’s obvious that both of these incredibly beautiful women look beyond bangin’, but which GQ cover do you find the sexiest? Beyonce’s Feb. 2013, ‘Sexiest Women of the 21st Century’ cover, or Rihanna’s photo on the ‘Men of the Year’ issue from Nov. 2012?

Beyonce’s GQ cover coincides with her Super Bowl XLVII performance, hence the cropped jersey. Beyonce is never shy about flaunting her figure, but she usually tends to keep covered for the most part, so we had to do a double take when we first saw this photo. Her arms are raised above her head, giving us a tiny glimpse of some under-boob, with her fit abs on full display. Bey’s thighs are also out of this world, and her hips are accentuated with a gold chain and her teeny-weeny, black and red panties.

Meanwhile, Rihanna took everything except her leather jacket off for her smokin’ hot GQ cover in late 2012. If you’ve taken a look at her Instagram feed lately, you probably know that the ‘Cockiness’ singer loves showing off her naked bod, so this mag cover shoot must’ve been a cinch for her. Her naked chest is covered just enough to prevent any nip slippage, and her hands are the only thing covering up her most private of lady parts. We really can see Rihanna’s amazing, hourglass shape here, and her tats make her look even more bada–.

It’s a tough choice, but who do you think had the sexiest GQ cover? Vote Beyonce or Rihanna below!

‘American Idol’ Judges Cover TV Guide, Reveal Who the Real Troublemaker Is

American Idol Judges TV Guide Cover
TV Guide

The ‘American Idol‘ judges and host Ryan Seacrest cover the new issue of TV Guide in advance of the Season 12 premiere next week.

Not only do new panelists Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj reveal their contestant criteria and judging styles, but they also claim the show is drama-free, after the threats heard ’round the world between Diva 1 (Mimi) and Diva 2 (Minaj.) We hope tongues are firmly tucked in cheeks there. They also reveal who the real diva is and it might surprise you.

The feature points out that Carey and Minaj sit next to one another during the first day of Hollywood Week shooting and compare notes, displaying a camaraderie in contrast to the beef that was broadcast all over the web a few months ago.

Panel mainstay Randy Jackson even joked that it’s Urban is the problem, causing all the drama. He joked that the country superstar seems quiet and unassuming, but he’s the one making life miserable. That poor guy, getting sucked into the mess! “If you look at Keith, he looks like a mild-mannered guy, but we have so much drama,” Jackson said.

Minaj revealed her judging style, which is more concrete and not rooted in concepts or intangibles, like being inspiring. “I try to use comic relief. Everybody wants to come in there talking about ‘inspiration,’” Minaj said. “Ugh! That’s not real to me. Maybe I want to know what color socks you have on because that’s going to spark something in you. Nobody says, ‘I want to inspire the world and I am going to stand on the mountaintop!’”

Jackson assessed this year’s panel, saying, “You have a broad range of very passionate advice and opinions. You want everybody to stand in their lane with passion and conviction.” Now that’s a politician’s answer if there ever was one!

Minaj also said she doesn’t want to be part of a show that’s “cheesy and corny. My role is to bring some sort of a twist so that [singers] don’t come in here with these cliché answers all the time.” Well, Nicki, some might argue that ‘Idol’ is sorta inherently cheesy and corny…

That said, that “diva” Urban offered some insight into how things are working this season, and how Minaj is exerting her influence. “Sometimes there’s swaying,” he admitted. “Like when Nicki has passionately believed in someone and we’ve all said no, she’s managed every now and then to turn us around by pointing out a few things we might not have been thinking about.”

Carey downplayed the gun threats and battle with Minaj, saying “To me, the show is such a freakin’ massive entity that nothing should matter to the public but that. It’s American Idol. It’s bigger than life and bigger than any stupid whatever.”

Perhaps Jackson, the sole remaining member of last year’s panel and the original panel, summed it up “best,” saying, “We’re getting along. It’s just a lovely family, and in a family, there’s never drama.” We’re OD’ing on the sarcasm.

Is the media circus over? Tune in next week and find out.

Phillip Phillips + Jimmy Iovine Share Billboard Cover

Phillip Jimmy Billboard
Billboard

After a few lean years, ‘American Idol‘ is once again a hit factory. Billboard celebrates this fact with its first 2013 cover featuring Season 11 winner (and platinum-seller) Phillip Phillips and Interscope head honcho (and ‘Idol’ advisor) Jimmy Iovine. Don’t they both look oh-so-serious?

With Scotty McCreery becoming a legit country superstar after winning Season 10, folk rocker Phillips swooped in, playing guitar while looking adorbs. He beat belter Jessica Sanchez since his style — neo folk that falls in line with the Lumineers or Mumford and Sons, all the while having a mainstream, pop appeal — is very current and heartfelt. His “aw shucks” demeanor won the ladies over. Just ask Julianne Hough.

His coronation song ‘Home’ is a monster hit that still has legs, while his album ‘The World From the Side of the Moon’ is enjoying continued success. That’s why the singer earned this cover. Under Iovine’s tutelage, ‘Idol’ is both vital and viable again.

Check out our exclusive chat with Phillips here.

Jennifer Lopez Is a Golden Glamazon on February Harper’s Bazaar Cover

Jennifer Lopez Harper's Bazaar Cover
Harper’s Bazaar

Jennifer Lopez covers the February issue of Harper’s Bazaar, and she’s a gilded goddess and a glamazon. But then again, when isn’t she?

“I’m a singer. I’m a dancer. I’m a performer. I’m an actress,” La Lopez told the fashion mag about the many hats she wears. She’s also a formerAmerican Idol‘ judge, but does it look like it bothers her that she’s been replaced? Not even a little bit! She got outta dodge before the wigs started flying.

The superstar, who can also list fashion designer, fashionista and perfumer on her resume, in addition to being a mom of twins who will turn 5 in February, keeps things as simple as possible in order to survive the beautiful chaos that is her life.

“I make it as simple and as beautiful as I can because my life is kind of big,” the diva, 43, stated. “So I pack my luggage, or dress myself, or comb my kids’ hair, pick up their clothes — that makes our life beautiful, you know? There’s something very elegant in that.” Elegant, yes? Maternal? Yep. Just like the rest of us? 100 percent!

In the feature, her mother Guadalupe, who tutors the twins while on tour, makes an appearances and offers the funniest statement of the whole piece.

“These people were like, ‘You know J. Lo?’” she said.”I made J. Lo!”

Now we know were La Lopez gets her spunk from — her mama!

Their relationship is close. “Last night I was so tired, and having to do a concert was daunting, you know?” Lopez says. “But Mom just said, ‘Close your eyes,’ and she held my hand the entire way over.”

And as for those adorbs twins, sired by her ex Marc Anthony? Well, their mom says, “They are used to being around a lot of people. They’re open, happy, curious, smart, loving, affectionate.” Not to mention rambunctious.

They also keep Lopez young. Even at 43, she lists her mental age as “16 to 18.”

She explained, “That’s when I became the person that I am. Even though I didn’t realize the whole journey I would go on, I still feel all that youthfulness.”

Lopez feels young. She looks it, too.

Check out the gorgeous, futuristic images — thanks to Fendi and Tom Ford — from the spread.

Nicki Minaj + Mariah Carey Cover The Hollywood Reporter, Still Bicker on ‘American Idol’ Set

Nicki Minaj Mariah Carey The Hollywood Reporter
The Hollywood Reporter

Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj brought drama to the ‘American Idol‘ auditions, but all they brought to their cover of The Hollywood Reporter was a lot of beauty. The ladies, accompanied by Ryan Seacrest as well as fellow judges Keith Urban and Randy Jackson, look stunning!

Mimi rocks a skintight purple dress with black tights and heels, while the Harajuku Barbie sports a platinum wig and a white lacy dress with her signature hot pink pucker.

Minaj revealed that she was actually shocked by her own decision to sit on the panel, telling the mag, “[There’s] a judgmental culture in hip-hop … sometimes you are afraid of being too famous because it’s almost, like, is that even cool? Being that accessible, someone you see on TV every week? I never pictured myself as that type of person,” she admitted. “I’m still surprised that I decided to do it.”

Carey said she was equally ambivalent about taking her own place at the table — but that her hubby, ‘America’s Got Talent’ host Nick Cannon, urged her to go for it. “I was on the fence about the whole thing. I got approached by all the shows,” she noted. “[Cannon] said I should do it because it’s the top, it’s the cream of the crop. And I felt like, ‘Do the show that’s produced massive stars who have had major careers.’”

Mimi and Minaj haven’t had the easiest time getting along, but neither really wants to talk about it. “Sometimes things get heated for their own reasons,” Carey dismissed when asked about their highly publicized fight. “I don’t think the panel has an issue.”

The mag says Minaj outright refused to talk about it, but she did offer, ”I am scary and intimidating. I definitely demand respect. I’m also a sweet person. I’m a loving person. But I don’t want to be f—ed with.” As far as criticism for her outlandish and often revealing wardrobe, Minaj sassed, ”I could think of at least one other person that shows more cleavage and skin than me,” rolling her eyes in the direction of Carey’s dressing room. Sounds like there’s still a bit of bad blood here!

Though THR noted that Minaj has been late to the set daily, executive producer Ken Warwick is still impressed with her. “Everyone thought she was just a daft, half-educated rapper,” he said. “But she has got a heart, and it’s starting to show, along with her intelligence, which threw some of us as well. And her eloquence and her grasp of what’s going on. I think she’ll surprise a lot of people.”

Kesha Covers Seventeen + Reveals She’s Bisexual

Kesha Seventeen
Seventeen

Kesha showed her softer side with some super cute kittens in the February issue of Seventeen, where she also had wise words for her animals — and revealed a pretty juicy secret about herself.

Rocking several different, diverse rock n’ roll, bohemian, flowery and just generally pretty looks, Kesha still looked like herself, which has always been super important to her… even when people don’t like what she’s doing. She admits in a behind-the-scenes video that she’s landed on worst dressed lists but that it doesn’t bug her, because it shows she’s doing her own thing.

“I used [negative comments] to motivate me then, and I still do,” she told the mag. “I remember every person who told me I couldn’t do something or that I was ugly or too fat. I have a ‘s— list’ — people from my past who have been soulless and judgmental. Even after I got through my awkward phase, got my braces off and figured out how to dress my body, people in the music business were like, ‘You’re never going to make it.’ I see them now and I’m like, ‘Ha!’ That’s one of the reasons I named my record ‘Warrior,’” she added. “You can be a victim and let that eat your soul, or you can say, You’re going on my list and I’m going to prove you wrong!”

First off, Kesha? Ugly? Fat? Are these people blind? She’s so cute! Still, she takes it in stride when people talk smack. “I’m very much into making fun of myself because other people do it so you have to be able to laugh at yourself,” she said. “The sooner you can laugh at yourself, the easier your life will be.”

That doesn’t mean she’s okay with outright bullying. In fact, she’s adamantly against it. “I’m all about standing up to gay/lesbian/transgender bullying, but it’s also about my little brother,” she said. “He’s 13 and he gets made fun of because he has a stutter. I just have zero tolerance for people making fun of others.”

Another reason K-Dollar Sign may be so against bullying of the LGBTQ community is because not only do they support her, but she identifies with them. She revealed, “I don’t love just men. I love people. It’s not about a gender. It’s just about the spirit that exudes from that other person you’re with.”

Good news for those of us with girl crushes on the Glitter Goddess!

Lana Del Rey + Her Icy Stare Cover Obsession

Lana Del Rey Obsession Cover
Obsession

Fresh off her Vogue China spread, the lovely Lana Del Rey, who is a part-singer, part-model, also appears on the cover of the French publication Obsession.

The photos are a bit samey — LDR’s thick, lush auburn hair, perfectly groomed and arched eyebrows, piercing stare and ’60s mod styling are all present, as is the case for so many of her spreads.

But she’s gorgeous nonetheless.

In this particular spread, she’s like a Barbie, with the thick, winged eyeliner and her icy blue stare.

Haunting. Breathtaking. Beautiful. If she ever decides to give up her music career, she certainly can go the model route. She has enough experience.

Tell us, PopCrushers. Are you totally enchanted by LDR, one of pop music’s most polarizing figures in 2012, in this classic spread or are you a bit bored by the familiar poses and styles that have come to define her magazine work?

Taylor Swift Covers WebMD Magazine, Talks ‘Horrific, Crazy Downfalls’

Taylor Swift WebMD Cover
WebMD

Taylor Swift graces the cover of the December issue of WebMD. We know, we were like, “There’s a WebMD magazine?,” too. But don’t question it; just go with it. Despite the fact that it’s a magazine about health issues, T. Swizzle, her bangs and her polished ponytail are featured. She’s flushed and pretty, with a pop of color on her pink-tinted lips.

The cover image might be innocent but the inside photos, featuring T. Swiz in a black sleeveless party dress with a poufy skirt while cradling a microphone, are sexier than anything we’ve seen from her. She must have been thinking “My much-desired-by-teen-girls BF Harry Styles of One Direction will be seeing these photos so I better look extra hot” while posing.

It is the most sophisticated we’ve seen Swizzle look in a while. No boyish brown Oxfords. No cardigans. No pearls. No floods. Thank God she chose to dress for her model height, as opposed to going the dowdy, housefrau route.

In the feature, Swift talks about her much-discussed relationships and how they infiltrate her songs, saying, “Everyone starts a relationship well intentioned. No one thinks, ‘This will have a horrific, crazy downfall, and it will be chronicled on an album that teenagers will be singing to themselves in their bedrooms.’”

Ya hear that, Hazza?

The ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ singer also addressed her happiness and how she keeps herself in check when her also-much-discussed neuroses start popping up.

“The fact is, my life is amazing, so when I’m getting too much in my own head, I try to say all the things I’m grateful for,” T. Swizzle said.

So what are those ‘Little Things’ she counts as blessngs, besides her boy band BF?

She revealed “It can be simple things — like if I’m complaining about how my cell phone is working slowly, I think about how slowly they worked five years ago. It’s OK to have glass-half-empty days, but not too many of them. I place a higher priority on being happy than I do on freaking out.”

So don’t write a song about how Jake Gyllenhaal liked indie records that are much cooler than yours or how much John Mayer sucked it. Write one about how great it is to hold hands with and be the object of H. Stylez’s affection! Focus on the good things, Tay Tay.

One Direction Cover Billboard as Artist of the Year

One Direction Billboard Cover
Billboard

One Direction have been selected as the Artist of the Year by Billboard, and in celebration of that honor, the boys cover the new issue of the music trade.

The mag got a few minutes with each member, discussing how they felt about this accolade, what acts they are into and their roles in the group, among other things.

Taylor Swift‘s BF Harry Styles revealed that his sister introduces him to new music. “I actually get a lot of music from my sister, who’s into all these bands,” the heartthrob said. “She’s been listening to and downloading stuff that I get from her. A lot of times suggested stuff comes on iTunes I’ll have a look at it, or the fans will send me things. But I’ve been listening to the Lumineers. I love their album and also Elvis Perkins, he’s great.”

Perhaps T. Swizzle can start turning him on … to new music, like an indie record that’s much cooler than hers. Get those skulls out of the gutter, people!

Zayn Malik, who is a well-coiffed as his mate Harry, said that he attributes 1D’s massive success to the fact “we didn’t try to fit in anywhere. We needed to make a sound that’s not gonna fit in with everything else – we wanted to make something that was completely unique and individual to us. We spent a lot of time trying to make a sound that was a One Direction sound. At first it was quite hard to do that, but I’m really happy with the sound. I guess it’s just a new thing.”

Liam Payne revealed that despite the incredible measure of success the boys have obtained, he is keeping a level head. “I’ve got a tattoo on my arm [‘Everything I Ever Wanted, But Nothing I’ll Ever Need’] to make sure I’ve managed to keep up with my family and friends and stuff,” he said. “We know that this won’t last forever, but we’re having a great time out here. It’s just amazing, I’m just really enjoying working for the money our whole year on tour. We’ve got the film and that stuff coming out next year, still loads of things. It’s just about living in this moment.”

Living while they’re young, right? Liam’s got the right attitude about this extraordinary situation he’s been thrust into.

Niall Horan shared his love of guitar playing, and how he hopes to do even more of that in the future. “I played six or seven songs on the album and probably a lot more of them on the tour,” the blond hunk said. “It’s nice to do. I kinda get into my comfort zone. I like to just sit there on the guitar sing and play. Someone told me the smile on my face gets bigger when I pay the guitar.”

And didja know Louis Tomlinson is the de facto leader of 1D? True story. But his perfectionism doesn’t preclude him being silly.

“I’ve sometimes felt like that, but to be honest most of the time I’m the immature one who needs to be told to get focused,” Tomlinson said. “I’m a bit of a perfectionist so I have to be kind of be on board with every minor detail and [I’m] quite opinionated. It’s quite important for me personally to be involved with the whole project.”

Congrats to 1D for gettin’ some and living while they’re young — and for being crowned Billboard’s Artist of the Year!
