Bruno, you cut us to the core! Mars was on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ last night to perform his song ‘When I Was Your Man’ off his hit LP ‘Unorthodox Jukebox.’
Donning a Sacramento Kings hat with piano and organ accompaniment, Bruno’s voice is the star of the show and rightfully so. The vocals on the recorded version of this song are impeccable and his live version on ‘Kimmel’ showcases just how talented Mars is.
Now that we’ve raved about Mr. Mars, we must ask the question. Can you be our man?

Beyonce will be joined by Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland for her highly anticipated Super Bowl halftime performance. Destiny’s Child is back!
Us Weekly reports that Bey will begin the show solo, with Rowland and Williams joining about midway through. The legendary girl group will perform a medley of their biggest hits before launching into their new single, ‘Nuclear,’ off of their upcoming greatest hits compilation album. Afterward, Rowland and Williams will bow out, leaving Queen Bey to take over the rest of the show.
Beyonce announced that Destiny’s Child would release their first new material in nine years earlier today (Jan. 10) on her website. The track will appear on ‘Love Songs,’ which will hit shelves on Jan. 29. Beyonce’s solo album is expected to land this spring. To quote the Queen herself, “I don’t think they can handle this!”

People’s Choice Awards performer Alicia Keys is taking her live show to arenas across the U.S. and Canada starting in March. Her Set the World on Fire Tour includes 24 dates spaced out over six weeks, with a stellar opening act in R&B star Miguel.
The tour begins on March 7 in Seattle and runs through April 18 in Chicago, hitting up the Staples Center and Madison Square Garden along the way. The trek will support Keys’ ‘Girl on Fire’ album, which entered the charts at No. 1 in November. The title track continues to climb the singles charts.
During her People’s Choice Awards performance, Keys moved out from behind the piano and strutted her stuff front and center with a bevy of backup dancers. She looks comfortable and excited to be back on stage.
Nabbing Miguel as the opener will probably help Keys sell more tickets, since the soul singer’s ‘Adorn’ was one of the hottest soul tracks of 2012 and earned a Song of the Year Grammy nomination.
“I can feel the energy of this upcoming year building and I couldn’t be more excited to go on tour with the new album and I’m thrilled to have the insanely talented Miguel join me,” Keys said in a press release.

Sky Ferreira has been “the next big thing” for a couple years now, and after repeated album delays, she may finally be on her way, if her performance Monday night on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ is any indication. The 20-year-old made her television debut with a performance of ‘Everything Is Embarrassing’ with Fallon’s house band, the Roots.
The singer wore an angry, pouty glare as she delivered the lyrics about a confused relationship. Complemented by a buoyant piano melody and Questlove’s fierce drumming, Ferreira sang, “Maybe if you let me be your lover / Maybe if you tried then I would not bother / Telling me that basically you’re not looking out for me.”
‘Everything Is Embarrassing’ appeared on Ferreira’s 2012 EP ‘Ghost,’ which will be followed later this year by her debut full-length ‘I’m Not Alright.’
The Bayfront Park in Miami will host the event, which spans two weekends this year instead of one, with shows on March 15-17 and March 22-24.
Swedish House Mafia, who announced their impending split in summer 2012, feel that closing out the Ultra Music Festival is honoring their own memory and beginnings — their first U.S. performance was at the 2010 Ultra Music Festival.
“Ultra was the first place we really built a show for a main stage,” the group said. “We filmed the whole thing and we played ‘One’ for the first time on that stage. It was a moment we would never forget and became the closing scene in our film, ‘Take One.’ … It just felt right that we finished where so much was started and we’re honored to open and close the festival.”
Billboard reports that Calvin Harris, Avicii, Afrojack and more are also billed to perform at the giant dance party, which still has limited tickets available at its website. More acts are slated to be announced in the “Phase Two” lineup.
This will be the 15th anniversary of the Ultra Music Festival, which is a staple of Miami Music Week. Last year’s festival featured Skrillex (who partied with then girlfriend Ellie Goulding and Selena Gomez, who was filming ‘Spring Breakers’ nearby, at the festival). Still, the real star of the 2012 Ultra Music Festival was surprise guestMadonna. Stay tuned to see what other acts the festival has up its sleeves for 2013!

Nicki Minaj rang in 2013 with a New Year’s Eve performance at PURE Nightclub in Las Vegas, where she played some of her biggest hits for the partiers in Sin City.
Video footage from the event shows Minaj walking the red carpet with golden hair, gold jewelry and a gold dress. She donned a long blue jacket for a champagne toast as fireworks exploded at midnight. Later, she screamed, “Where my Barbs at?” before she sang along to recordings of ‘Moment 4 Life’ and ‘Starships.’
The video concluded with a red carpet interview in which Minaj revealed that in a couple weeks she’ll be filming a music video for either ‘I’m Legit’ or ‘High School,’ two songs from ‘The Re-Up,’ her latest album.

Watch Nicki Minaj Perform at PURE Nightclub in Vegas
Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Kesha and Jay-Z were just a few of the artists who entertained live on New Year’s Eve 2013, adding that extra oomph to music fans’ blowout bashes or low-key hangouts at home. Psy (with M.C. Hammer), Rita Ora, Ne-Yo, Nicki Minaj and Coldplay also celebrated New Year’s Eve 2013 with live shows in the N.Y.C. area, but out of all these performers, which one was your favorite to watch on NYE 2013?
While mostly all of these New Year’s Eve performers rang in 2013 from New York City, Justin Bieber was busy holding it down for the West Coast. The ‘Beauty and a Beat’ crooner performed his latest ‘Believe’ hit from L.A. for ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,’ and even got an assist from Big Sean for ‘As Long as You Love Me.’
Meanwhile, across the U.S., Taylor Swift was smooching Harry Styles and singing for her fans in Times Square. The ‘Red’ chart-topper wore leather and sparkles while belting ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ and ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ in the frigid cold. Closing things out in Times Square were Psy and M.C. Hammer, who teamed up to perform their mashup of ‘Gangnam Style’ (which Psy swore to retire) and ’2 Legit 2 Quit.’
Who else hit the stage in N.Y.C.’s Time Square before the big ball dropped? Carly Rae Jepsen, Pitbull and Flo Rida were also on hand for some end-of-year entertainment, getting the crowd pumped for 2013 with their 2012 hits. To no surprise, Ms. Jepsen played ‘Call Me Maybe’ live, giving us one last taste of the viral hit (along with ‘This Kiss’) before the New Year. And Pitbull did what he did best — got the party started. Mr. 305 had the temperatures rising with his medley of high-energy hits like ‘International Love’ and ‘Hey Baby.’ Finally, Flo closed things out with a set of uptempo hits like ‘Cry’ and ‘Whistle.’
Over yonder in Brooklyn, N.Y., Jay-Z was performing live with his buddies in Coldplay at the Barclays Center. While Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion kicked things off with a short set of their own tunes, with Hova later joining them for ‘Lost’ and ‘Heart of the City.’ On top of that, Jay performed his own set of 25 songs on New Year’s Eve 2013, showing love to the city where he was born and raised.
Meanwhile, at MTV, Kesha, Rita Ora and Ne-Yo performed at the media outlet’s Club New Year’s Eve bash. The ‘Warrior’ princess from Tennessee chose to perform her newest single ‘C’Mon,’ Rita fittingly sang ‘How We Do (Party)’ to ring in 2013, and Ne-Yo of course had to entertain the masses with his infectious party jam ‘Let Me Love You.’
Closing out the whole shebang is Nicki Minaj, who hosted her very own New Year’s Eve 2013 celebration at Pure nightclub in Las Vegas. Between costume changes and some champagne popping, the Harajuku Barbie performed a plethora of hits for the Barbz gathered in Sin City. ‘Turn Me On,’ ‘Starships’ and ‘Moment 4 Life’ were just a few of the jams Nicki performed while ringing in 2013.

Jay-Z joined forces with Coldplay on New Year’s Eve to ring in 2013 with a bang.
Coldplay opened the show, playing a full set amass with confetti, glowing bracelets and balloons throughout. The Day-Glo shades were a staple of their live shows for ‘Mylo Xyoto,’ and the crowd was delighted by the show. The band teamed up with Jigga on ‘Lost,’ sending the crowd into a steady roar throughout. Hova, happy to be in his hometown and his own arena, performed a 25-song set, donning a slick tux and getting vocal assistance from Bridget Kelly and Coldplay frontman — and BFF — Chris Martin.

Kanye West is known for his fearless stage performances but this one is for the record books. Yeezy kicked off his pre-New Year’s Eve concerts on Friday (Dec. 28) in Atlantic City, N.J. wearing — in our humble opinion — the most outrageous headpieces we have ever seen this side of Lady Gaga.
According to MTV, it was an all-white everything event as West blanketed himself in a winter-themed performance. Dressed in an ivory-colored trench coat, pants and sneakers, we can only guess that since it’s the winter season, Yeezy wanted to celebrate it at his concert in A.C.
But the talk of the Internet was West’s two intricate stage masks. During his 75-minute set, the rapper wore a feathered-lined mask that made him look like the Abominable Snowman. The other was a diamond-encrusted headpiece that was created by fashion designer Maison Mart Margiela.
Behind seven screens, which projected a wintery wonderland in 3D, West performed several of his noteworthy hits including ‘Cold,’ ‘Runaway,’ ‘Birthday Song’ and the ‘Cruel Summer’ bangers ‘Clique’ and ‘Mercy.’ He also dipped into his old catalog and rocked the classics like ‘Good Life,’ ‘Power,’ ‘Can’t Tell Me Nothing’ and a snow-dusted rendition of ‘Jesus Walks.’
On Twitter, reactions to West’s, um, unique headwear were both critical and hilarious. One commenter tweeted, “He look[s] like a frozen sperm,” while another wrote, “Kanye West out here looking like a snow monster on Scooby Doo.” But this tweet probably sums up the whole thing entirely: “He think[s] he lady gaga,” tweeted @_MsHoliday.
This was Kanye West’s first of a three-show residency at the Revel hotel in Atlantic City, following his two sold-out shows in July. We can’t wait to see what he has planned for his next two concerts on today (Dec. 29) and Sunday (Dec. 30).

Skrillex leads Detroit’s NYE party at the Palace of Auburn Hills, where he performs with German EDM star Boys Noize and a handful of other dance acts. Skrillex might be today’s biggest EDM act and has earned eight Grammy nominations in just the past two years for ‘Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites’ and ‘Bangarang.’
Miami, the home of the annual Ultra Music Festival, is always a hotbed of EDM activity, and NYE is no exception. Kaskade and Nervo have performances lined up, while Calvin Harris headlines a show at LIV nightclub. Harris has been all over the charts in the past year with Rihanna‘s ‘We Found Love’ and his own hits ‘Feel So Close,’ ‘Let’s Go’ with Ne-Yo and ‘Sweet Nothing’ with Florence Welch.
‘Levels’ performer Avicii is the big name for Anaheim’s White Wonderland party, which also features Sebastian Ingrosso. Both artists opened select shows on this year’s MDNA tour with Madonna.
New York City residents will have to choose from among a wide range of EDM concerts featuring Afrojack, Armin van Buuren, Dada Life, Moby, RJD2 and Pretty Lights. Chicago gets Porter Robinson at the Congress Theater. You’ll have to go to Mexico to catch global superstar David Guetta on New Year’s Eve, but he has a show in Miami on Jan. 10.
There are so many options that the only real problem for EDM fans may be securing tickets, since many of the New Year’s Eve events are already sold out.

We may have tuned in for the new Backstreet Boys holiday song, but we surely stuck around for their performance of ‘As Long As You Love Me’!
The boys were on hand at ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’ to perform their new contemporary holiday tune ‘It’s Christmas Time Again.’ While their new song leaves much to be desired, they really hit their stride performing a smoothed out version of their 1997 song with accompaniment by The Roots.
The saying still holds, “oldie, but a goodie!”
