Lil Wayne’s Reps Deny Pixar Movie Rumors

Lil Wayne playing an animated character in a movie may sound good on paper, but, unfortunately, it’s not going to happen anytime soon. Weezy’s managers told MTV News that the Young Money honcho is not starring in any Pixar movie about dinosaurs.

The rumor was Wayne would be voicing a character in ‘The Good Dinosaur,’ a Pixar film about the friendship between a boy and his pet brontosaurus. The movie, which will be directed by Bob Peterson and Peter Soh, was expected to hit theaters in May 2014.

The story didn’t seem too far fetched since fellow Young Money superstars Drake and Nicki Minaj voiced the wooly mammoth characters in 2012′s ‘Ice Age: Continental Drift.’ Weezy has done previous voiceover work on a few projects including a 2007 episode of ‘The Boondocks’ and 2010′s ‘Freaknik the Musical.’

In other Lil Wayne news, the 30-year-old rapper is appealing the judgment in his legal case against producer Quincy Jones III. If you recall, a jury ordered Wayne to pay over $2 million to QDIII after he didn’t show up for his own trial back in October. The case stems from Wayne’s lawsuit against the producer for using his music in an unauthorized 2009 documentary called ‘The Carter.’

The case also features Wayne’s infamous deposition tape, in which he gave QDIII’s attorney a hard time during questioning. It’s still a hilarious video to watch.

Wayne has filed documents for his intent to appeal. The ‘No Worries’ rapper has 30 days to officially file an appeal or else he has to pay up.

Lil Wayne + 2 Chainz’s ‘Rich as F—’ Leaks

We’ll still have to wait until Feb. 19 to hear the whole album, but the third official single from Lil Wayne‘s upcoming ‘I Am Not a Human Being II’ has hit the web, and it’s ‘Rich As F—.’

A collaboration between Wayne and 2 Chainz, ‘Rich’ finds the two emcees rapping about, well, being rich — as well as having unfettered access to some of the finer things in life, such as sex and controlled substances. It’s vintage Weezy, in other words, and as Idolator notes, the fact that the leak comes from a noticeably low-quality rip of the song actually kind of reinforces its stuttering beat and slippery flow.

We haven’t seen a complete confirmed track listing for ‘Human Being II,’ but between ‘Rich’ and some of the other Lil Wayne tracks that have surfaced recently (including first single ‘My Homies Still,’ the Detail-produced ‘No Worries,’ and the more recently leaked ‘B—-es Love Me,’ featuring Drake and Future), it’s looking like this could shape up to be one of his most consistent efforts in quite some time — which would jibe with what he promised MTV last summer, saying, “We didn’t rush the music … I paid attention to everything I did. You’re getting the quality of all my albums: ‘Tha Carter IV,’ ‘Tha Carter III,’ the same with this, ‘I Am Not a Human Being II.’ Hope you like it.”

Which 2013 Album Are You Anticipating Most? – Readers Poll

2013 is shaping up to be a great year for music already. There are a lot of amazing new albums due out in 2013, and we’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of fresh tunes from a number of our favorite international divas, teen queens, boy bands, Brits, and big-time rappers. We’ve narrowed down the list of new releases for 2013 and we want to know which album you’re most excited about!

While many of the 2013 LPs remain unconfirmed, being that they are still in the developmental stages and/or are in the process of recording, it’s pretty much certain that Beyonce, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus and Avril Lavigne will dish out a serving of fresh jams this year. While all of these names have our ears perking, we cannot wait to hear what Beyonce, Brit, Mariah and Miley have in store, mostly because everything Bey and Brit touches turns to gold, and Mariah and Miley haven’t released new material in quite some time, so we’re anxious to see how their sound has morphed over these years.

The aforementioned vocalists may have ‘TBA’ as their titles for now, but one album name that has been confirmed is Lady Gaga‘s highly-anticipated ‘ARTPOP.’ Mama Monster has been teasing her latest musical masterpiece for months now, and the two-volume, “risky” LP is sure to be intriguing (Gaga called it an “assault on your ears ) and one of the biggest releases of 2013.

Another superstar artist that has confirmed their album title is Justin Bieber, who is dropping the acoustic version of his ‘Believe’ LP in Jan. 2013. And speaking of heartthrobs… Jonas Brothers have a new album due out 2013, which will likely include new songs like ‘Wedding Bells’ (which they wrote about Miley Cyrus). Also joining the list of  boy bands with new albums in 2013 are five-piece British-Irish act the Wanted, who will drop ‘Third Strike’ in 2013, as well as Backstreet Boys, who have reunited and will unleash their first album as a quintet since 2005!

Additionally, you can expect fresh tunes from Paramore (their self-titled LP expected to drop in April 2013), Jessie J, Rita Ora, ASAP Rocky (‘LongLiveAsap’ will be officially released in Jan. 2013), Nicki Minaj (‘Pink Friday: The Pinkprint’), Azealia Banks (‘Broke With Expensive Taste’) and Lil Wayne (‘I Am Not a Human Being II’). Finally, we’d be surprised not to hear a new batch of tracks from Eminem, Jay-Z and Kanye West, who have all been in the studio as of late.

Check out this list of upcoming releases for 2013 and vote for the artist you’re most excited to hear new songs from!

Timbaland’s ‘The Party Anthem’ Features Lil Wayne, Missy Elliott + T-Pain

Timbaland is unleashing ‘The Party Anthem’ on the world with a new track featuring his longtime collaborator Missy Elliott, plus Lil Wayne and T-Pain.

The song glides on a crashing beat with piano and maybe even a violin in there as Timbaland raps, “The biggest dog in the game with the biggest bark / Money money money don’t make the man / Man make the money with the biggest master plan.”

T-Pain’s hook is a pedestrian “put your hands in the air” Auto-Tune rhyme, but Weezy and Missy really bring it on their verses. Elliott raps, “See the way the crowd go wild when Misdemeanor ’bout to enter / Everybody better bow down when I step up to the mic, front and center / Say I’m too old to rap, I’ll be rapping ’til I wear dentures / Yeah, hello haters.” Wayne adds, “I make the motherf—ers bow down, no applause.”

It’s been four years since Timbaland’s ‘Shock Value II’ album, and he’s been working on ‘Shock Value III,’ but it’s unclear whether ‘The Party Anthem’ will make it onto the record. He and Elliott released new music in September that could also appear on an album by either of them.

Lil Wayne Gets ‘Baked’ Tattoo on Forehead

Lil Wayne baked tattoo

Lil Wayne wasn’t joking when he said he was seriously committed to skateboarding. A new photo shows the rapper with the word “BAKED” inked across his forehead, in honor of his skate company, Baker Skateboards.

In the pic, Tunechi sticks out his tongue and closes his eyes while the letters B-A-K-E-D are on full display inside square blocks on his forehead. We’ll let you decide whether you think “baked” has another special meaning for Wayne beyond just the skate company name.

Weezy already had teardrop tats under his eyes, stars on his left temple, the word TUNE near his ear, and other small symbols around his eyes and neck, but adding a word in the middle of his forehead is a big step. We hope he doesn’t regret the decision, much like Gucci Mane apparently regrets his ice cream cone face tattoo.

In August, Wayne admitted skating was more important than rapping for him right now. “I picked up the skateboard and I thought it would be a hobby, but it’s a lifestyle. You have to be fully committed,” he said. “In order to be fully committed, you have to live that lifestyle. What these young kids say right now, ‘You have to be about that life.’ I guess I’m about that life. It’s kinda of putting rap on the back burner, that’s all. Rap is a taking backseat to skating.”

Lil Wayne Reportedly to Star in Pixar Movie ‘The Good Dinosaur’

Rapper Lil Wayne is quite an animated figure in the rap world, but it looks like he’s going to bring his unique personality to film. According to ScreenCrush, Weezy will reportedly voice a character in a new Pixar flick titled ‘The Good Dinosaurs.’

The animated movie will be in 3D and will feature a cast of voiceovers from Jason Alexander, John Ratzenberger and Joan Rivers. The premise of ‘The Good Dinosaur’ goes something like this:

“What if the cataclysmic asteroid that forever changed life on Earth actually missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct?”

The movie will follow the friendship between a boy and his pet brontosaurus. ‘The Good Dinosaur’ will be directed by Bob Peterson and Peter Sohn who both worked on the 2007 animated film ‘Up.’ Their previous credits include such box-office hits as ‘Cars’ and the ‘Toy Story’ franchise.

We don’t know what kind of dinosaur Wayne will play in the movie but a baby Tyrannosaur Rex wouldn’t be too far of a stretch since he’s been a tyrant in the rap game for over a decade.

‘The Good Dinosaur’ is set to rule in theaters on May 30, 2014.

Lil Wayne Releases New Track ‘Good Kush & Alcohol (B—-es Love Me)’ Featuring Drake and Future

Lil Wayne loves his, um, fans and doesn’t care about the haters on his new single, ‘Good Kush & Alcohol (B—-es Love Me).’ The song is set to appear on Weezy’s upcoming studio effort ‘I Am Not a Human Being II,’ now tentatively due out Feb. 19.

Fellow rhyme-spitters Future and Drake back Wayne up on the hook, with the former warbling (via Auto-Tune) about kush and alcohol and the former singing about how the b—-es love him.

Meanwhile, Tunechi spits rhymes about how he bags women all day and gives a stern middle finger to the haters who don’t want him to shine. “P—-, money, weed, codeine / She said my d— feel like morphine / I hope my name taste like sardines to these n—-s,” he raps.

Apparently, Weezy plans to release this Mike Will Made It-produced track to radio despite his salacious lyrics on it. “I already know that song is probably gonna be one of the biggest songs on the album,” he told Rap-Up.

Future is also confident that radio will embrace the song with open arms. “It’s a movie,” he says. “I can’t wait to see how fans respond to it.”

What do you think about the song? Tell us in the comments below.

Lil Wayne Reportedly Involved in Brawl at Power 106′s ‘Cali Christmas’ Concert

Lil Wayne reportedly was involved in a major brawl after performing at Power 106′s ‘Cali Christmas Show’ last Friday (Dec. 14) in Los Angeles. According to Hollyscoop, Weezy got into a fight with an unidentified person backstage at the concert for some unknown reason.

Hollyscoop’s reporting is a little shaky with the facts. The website states that Wayne arrived at the venue to “perform a verse on Kendrick Lamar‘s song ‘No Worries.’” Of course, every rap fan knows that ‘No Worries’ is actually Weezy’s song and not a Lamar track.

Nevertheless, an eyewitness tells the website that “Punches were thrown but no arrests were made. It was a serious fight and was witnessed by everyone who was backstage.” Are we to assume that no one had a camera phone on their persons and couldn’t record this alleged melee? C’mon now, we’re living in the YouTube age.

No word on what Wayne was fighting about since, apparently, there was no police presence at the venue and no arrests were made. Although Hollyscoop managed to jot down four asinine reasons on what Wayne’s fight might have been about. Really?

Here is a fact that we do know: Lil Wayne did performed ‘No Worries’ with Kendrick Lamar at Power 106′s ‘Cali Christmas’ concert. You can watch the video below.

Lil Wayne Pays $7 Million to Cover Tax Liens on His Miami House

Lil Wayne has no worries when it comes to his tax debts. The Young Money honcho finally paid the taxman a whopping $7.72 million he owed in back taxes. That’s a lot of moolah, baby!

According to Gossip Extra, Weezy was on the IRS’s radar after he was delinquent on three liens for unpaid income levy. The ‘How to Love’ rapper owed $3.3 million for 2008 and $2.2 million for 2009, according to Miami-Dade County records.

The taxman pounced on Wayne after he copped a $11.6 million mansion on La Corce Island in Miami. Hey, there’s a reason why he’s on the Cash Money record label.

But Wayne’s financial struggles are far from over. Recently, a judge ordered him to pay $2.2 million to producer Quincy Jones III after he failed to appear in his own copyright-infringement case. And let’s not go into his other legal battles with producers who are suing him for unpaid royalties.

Lil Wayne will clock more moolah next year, however, when he releases his new album ‘I Am Not a Human Being II’ on Feb. 19 and embark on a major tour. “I’m gonna tour right after the album drops and I’m gonna tour all year round worldwide,” he says.

Lil Wayne Laughs at the Skateboarding Haters

When Lil Wayne announced last year that he’s taken up skateboarding, many thought it would only be a hobby for him. But Weezy has been very serious about his newfound passion. Nevertheless, the skateboarding haters think he should just quit the sport and stick to rapping.

The detractors have gone so far as to launch a skate crew called “F— Weezy Campaign” to encourage the ‘No Worries’ rapper to stop skateboarding. No dice.

Since pursuing the sport of skateboarding, Wayne has launched his skateboard-inspired apparel line Trukfit and a DEWeezy campaign that recently help opened a skate park in New Orleans. As for the haters, Tunechi is having the last laugh on them.

“It’s a whole bunch of skaters that’s just like, ‘we don’t like the fact that Wayne skates period.’ Like, ‘stick to doing what you do, don’t join our world, we don’t want you here,’ that type of thing,” he explains to MTV’s RapFix. “I guess to them I’m only good for spending my money opening skate parks for them to come rip up. I have no problem with it. I probably skate better than all of them.”

How ironic is that? The haters are having fun skating in the same skate park that Wayne built for them. The “FWC” crew should stop the hating and start congratulating — Weezy is serious about the sport.

Meanwhile, Wayne, who is known for being a trendsetter, doesn’t want to take credit for the “Double Cup” trend of “sippin’ syrup,” which is a drug concoction of codeine and promethazine. He gives that credit to the late Pimp C of UGK fame, who died five years ago from a deadly combination of syrup and his sleep apnea condition. “I did it ’cause Pimp C did it [first], flat out,” he says. “All I listen to all day is UGK. Everybody know that. Everybody know Pimp C, to me … I mean, you know, next to God and my mama and my kids, man, it’s Pimp C.”

However, Wayne condemns being associated with the drug trend. “I just hate the fact that I took so much flak for it, man, like I was the poster boy for that,” he says. “When I went to jail like 75 percent of my letters from fans was like ‘I’m really glad you’re in there because I’m just really glad you get to not be on’ … I’m like how do you know what I was on?”

Lil Wayne Wants to Get Married + Expand Trukfit Clothing Line

Lil Wayne
Kevin C. Cox, Getty Images

Now that he’s announced his retirement is on the horizon, what does Lil Wayne want to do with all that free time? Easy: Get hitched (really!) and design more clothes.

“I know y’all want me around for a little bit, [but] ‘Tha Carter V’ is my last album,” Wayne announced last week. “I’ve been rapping since I was 8 years old; I’m 30 now. That’s a long time, and I like to do so many more things, and when I like to do something, I end up loving to do it real quick. And I love to do something, I’m fully focused on it and it only, and music sometimes is not that it.”

Weezy, who was previously married to high school sweetheart Toya, told Sway Calloway that despite his Lothario reputation, he’d actually love to settle down one day if he met the right girl. When asked if he ever sees himself married, he quickly quipped, “Yup. Yeah, man, yup. Happily married too.” He chuckled, “I’ll probably run down the aisle. I’ll probably slide into the preacher like it was home plate!” Too cute!

As for what work he wants to do when he retires from the rap game, the ‘No Worries’ MC wants to work more on his Trukfit line. He explained that the line’s simplicity is what made it so immediately popular. “I think because it’s not trendy and it’s not what’s the norm,” he said. “People are tired of everything just being ‘what’s cool.’ Everybody’s wearing such and such, everybody’s doing such and such, and I don’t believe that’s what Trukfit is. Trukfit is just a bunch of little characters on a shirt, a bunch of sayings and stuff … I have plans down the line to expand it.”

While Wayne doesn’t design the apparel himself, he does oversee and decide on everything that gets made. “My designer sends [drafts] over to me in an email and I decline or approve, it’s that simple,” he explained. “And the kids are enjoying it. And not only the kids, I have pro athletes hitting me up , sending me their addresses, like, ‘I need a box of that sent to me every month’ or ‘I’mma wear that to my press conference’ or ‘I’m gonna wear that when I sign my deal’ — so it’s really moving.”
