Katy Perry Poses With Camel in Dubai

Katy Perry loves a lot of things, but in a newly posted photo, the pop star is professing her adoration for the emirate Dubai — while leaning against a camel.

The 28-year-old looked oh-so-elegant in the pic, which she tweeted to her nearly 30 million followers on Monday (Dec. 10) with the caption, “I [heart] Dubai.” The camel photo opp became available when Perry visited the United Arab Emirates to perform at the World Parachuting Championship’s closing ceremony.

Perry is no stranger to exotic animals. Elephants were rumored to be at her wedding to now ex-hubby Russell Brand, who also gifted his then-wife a tiger named Machli.

Caption This Funny Photo of Katy Perry at Trevor Live 2012!

We already discussed the performances at Trevor Live 2012 (i.e. Darren Criss“Part of Me” cover; Anna Kendrick and Kristin Chenoweth‘s Wicked duet), but we never paid homage to the event’s guest of honor, Katy Perry. So after looking at pictures of the singer from TL2012, we stumbled upon this one and decided that the best way to pay tribute would be via Caption This, of course. From the way she’s holding her purse to her charming side glance, or even how the microphone that says “what’s trending” is pointing directly at her, it’s golden. Now’s the time, folks. How would you caption Katy Perry?

Carmen Electra Channels Ke$ha: 38 Other Celebrity Doppelgangers (PHOTOS)

Is that Carmen Electra or Ke$ha? Electra’s edgy new look made it hard to tell.

Donning a leather leotard, fishnet tights, and cornrows on one side of her down ‘do, the sexy star looked like the spitting image of pop star Ke$ha during an appearance on the Wendy Williams Show to promote her latest single “I Like it Loud.”

The former Baywatch star’s edgy makeover coincides with her decision to focus more on her music. Electra told Celebuzz last week, “I love acting but deep down this is what I’ve wanted to do for so long.”

Katy Perry and New Girl star Zooey Deschanel have been mistaken for one another on numerous red carpets.

From Taylor Swift and Diane Kruger to Kristin Cavallari, This Week’s Already Filled With Too Many Chic Holiday Looks to Count (PHOTOS)

We’re only midway through the week, and we’re already struggling to keep up with all the fab fashion style stars have been sporting this week.

And you know what that means — the holiday party season must be in full-gear. From an array of fashionable fetes and charity galas to KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball extravaganza and celebrations honoring music and film legends, A-listers have had plenty of excuses to dress up these past few days.

And dress up they did, with  Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Diane Kruger and many more stars pulling out all the style stops for the latest seasonal celebrations.

Just as we were starting to tire of some of fall’s more played-out trends, we were treated to a fresh new crop of party styles.

From Swift’s ladylike twist on metallics at the 2012 Ripple of Hope Gala in New York City (hosted by her ex Connor Kennedy‘s family) and Kruger’s skirted spin on sheer in a ruffled Prabal Gurung gown at an event honoring director Quentin Tarantino to the grassy alternative to emerald that Katy Perry wore at a celebration for Carole King, stylish stars introduced us to a whole new set of trends just in time for your to adopt them before your fete-filled weekend.

At the CMT Artists of the Year awards show, the evening’s co-host Hayden Panettiere made magenta’s place among the holidays’ hot hues official. The Nashville star rocked a vibrant pink one-shoulder gown on the red carpet before changing into two more bright looks during the show. Offering another hot alternative to oxblood, Kristin Cavallari gave crimson a flirty spin for the launch of her new shoe line for Chinese Laundry on Tuesday.

The fashionable crowd at HBO’s screening of In Vogue: The Editor’s Eye introduced stylish new ways of putting outfits together you’ll want to steal, while Jessica Chastain showed off the must-have work-to-cocktails dresses you’ll want to add to your winter wardrobe, and the stylish stars at the Mon Cheri Barbara Tag event in Munich, Germany showed how to make a floor-length gown look fresh and cool, not stuffy.

And that’s only a taste of the week’s festive fashion to whet your sartorial appetites. Click through the gallery for all the week’s fab holiday fashion.

Worst Red Carpet Look of 2012 – Readers Poll

Rihanna Katy Perry Nicki Minaj Lady Gaga Carly Rae Jepsen

The red carpet is the place for fashion statements, but sometimes, celebrities stretch their luck and take things way too far with their ensembles. For example, just check out our nominees for the worst red carpet look of 2012, from Rihanna‘s deflated trash bag pajamas, to the tween-inspired jumper and platform sneakers worn by Carly Rae Jepsen.

We hate to see RiRi looking so bad, because she usually looks so good. But, alas, we’re not the ones who advised her to wear this sad, baggy sweatsuit to her album release party in N.Y.C. this year — it looks like a deflated version of Missy Elliott‘s trash bag in her ‘Supa Dupa Fly’ video. This pleather-overload look is a creation by Damir Domas, but not even her Manolo Blahnik heels can save RiRi from this lazy-looking, fashion disaster.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, we were blinded by at Katy Perry‘s neon nightmare at the 2012 Kids’ Choice Awards outfit. While the Nickelodeon event always has more playful looks on the red carpet, Katy Perry looks like she bought a green sports bra and then hot-glued some beads on it. The skirt is equally bad, the heels are just too much, and top it off with a crazy a– ponytail and you’ve got one of the worst red carpet looks of 2012!

Then there’s the costumed divas of pop music, Nicki Minaj and Lady Gaga, who really disappointed us with two of their outlandish getups this year. While we’re usually eagerly awaiting Nicki and Gaga’s next fashion move, since they are always incredibly eye-catching, the ‘Freedom’ rapper’s 2012 Grammy outfit was just so, so terrible, and the fact that it’s a Versace design has left us baffled. And Gaga was buggin’ out at her Fame fragrance launch, appearing as some sort of insect-human hybrid in her over-the-top black getup and goggles.

Finally, there’s Carly Rae Jepsen, who dresses way too young for a woman who’s three years away from 30. WTF is that plaid jumper? It looks the uniform we had to wear to Catholic school back when we were 8, and that even looked better than Jepsen’s ensemble. The odd studded collar and belt, matronly plaid pattern, pleated skirt and platform sneakers have transported Jepsen from a 27-year-old superstar back to those awkward tween years when almost everything you wear looks dreadful.

Which red carpet ensemble is the worst from 2012? Cast your vote below!

Was Katy Perry’s Green YSL Gown a Hit or a Miss? Our Style Squad Weighs In — Then It’s Your Turn (PHOTOS)

The Style Squad is back in action, with our panel of fashion gurus – including Real Housewives of New Jersey‘s Kathy Walkie, model and jewelry designer Brittny Gastineau, and TV personality/style expert Lawrence Zarian — helping us break down the latest celebrity looks each week.

For this week’s round, we asked the Style Squad to weigh in on the green Yves Saint Laurent gown Katy Perry wore to a celebration for Carole King on Tuesday night. An embellished bodice decorated the bodice of the floor-length gown, which also featured vertical pleating and a sexy, but not racy, side slit.

The “Teenage Dream” songstress, 28, paired the strapless number with a sparkly Amrapali statement necklace and gold Giuseppe Zanotti peep-toe heels. Finishing off the floor-length gown with loose waves and soft, natural makeup, Perry’s look was markedly toned down from her signature funky style.

Watch the Director’s Cut of Katy Perry’s ‘The One That Got Away’ Video

After eight hit singles, four Grammy nominations, more than five million copies sold, and one deluxe reissue, you’d be perfectly justified in thinking there was absolutely nothing left to release from Katy Perry‘s ‘Teenage Dream’ — but you would apparently still be wrong, because here’s the extended cut of her video for ‘The One That Got Away.’

A No. 3 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 during its initial release as a single, ‘The One That Got Away’ also boasted one of Perry’s most cinematic videos, revolving around a storyline that features an older Katy (voiced by Fleetwood Mac‘s Stevie Nicks, which seems kind of rude to Stevie, but whatever) reflecting on a relationship that went wrong in her younger years. We’ve known for awhile that an extended cut was filmed, because it was shown prior to advance screenings of the film ‘My Week with Marilyn,’ but we haven’t been able to see it for ourselves… until now.

So if you just can’t get enough Katy — or if you were hoping to get a few more glimpses of those prosthetic face wrinkles she sports in the video — this post is just for you. Check out the seven-minute expanded cut of ‘The One That Got Away’ above.

Katy Perry is a Goddess in Green at Carole King Music Celebration

Jason Merritt, Getty Images

Katy Perry was a goddess in green at the Carole King Music Celebration, which benefited Paul Newman’s The Painted Turtle Camp, last night (Dec. 4) in Hollywood.

The singer, who has been leaving the candy-coated costumes behind while she walks red carpets lately, paired a strapless, jewel-tone green Yves Saint Laurent dress with gold Giuseppe Zanotti heels.

The dress was subtle, save for the thigh-high slit and the bedazzled bodice, which was ruched under her ample bust and gave the dress some textured life and luster.

The real showpiece, however, of Perry’s outfit was her Amrapali necklace, which made a statement of its own. Perry wore her raven hair down, in thick waves; and while she wore it somewhat off the shoulder, she would have benefitted from an updo so we could see the full scope and visual effect of that silvery, wreath-like necklace.

Other than that, the ‘Wide Awake’ singer, who also performed at the event, was a vision in green.

The Painted Turtle is a great cause that offers children with serious medical conditions hope and encouragement through its Summer and Family Weekend camps. It has done so since 2004.

Katy Perry Hides From Russell Brand Over Dinner With John Mayer

It’s awkward enough running into an ex, but doing so when you’re famous and everyone is aware of your split has got to be worse — especially when you’re out with someone new. Such was the case of Katy Perry, who narrowly avoided a run-in with ex-husband Russell Brand while out to dinner with her beau, John Mayer.

Us Weekly reports that Perry and Mayer were chowing down at the fancy schmancy Beverly Hills Polo Lounge when Brand came in and the seating hostess made a pretty big boo boo.

A spy told the mag, “The hostess almost seated Russell next to Katy. Katy’s face was like, ‘Oh, s—!’” Perry actually ducked under the table to avoid her former hubby, so we’re guessing that divorce may not have been as amicable as they each insisted at the time.

Perry’s since moved on with Mayer, whom she took to tour her hometown of Santa Barbara, Calif., recently — and with whom she’s rumored to keep her neighbors ‘Wide Awake,’ as the pair are rumored to have a raucous romantic life. (Yuck.)

Still, once Brand found out Perry was in the building, he couldn’t help but be curious as to what she was up to. The witness revealed, ”On his way to the bathroom, he looked at [John and Katy] through a window!” As if the paps weren’t bad enough, right?
