After stumping for him during his re-election campaign last year, stars like Katy Perry, John Legend, Usher, Stevie Wonder and Alicia Keys are set to light up the stage during festivities to mark Obama’s inauguration in Washington, D.C., this month.

The musical acts were announced Friday by the Presidential Inauguration Committee, which already tapped Beyoncé, Kelly Clarkson, and James Taylorto sing the national anthem, “My Country Tis of Thee,” and “America the Beautiful,” respectively, at the official inauguration ceremony in front of the Capitol on Jan. 21.

The celebrity-laden lineup will entertain at events surrounding Obama’s swearing-in.

With more than 35,000 people to attend at the Washington Convention Center in downtown D.C., the Inaugural Ball will be a way for Obama supporters — members of the public along with campaign volunteers — to toast the president’s next four years in the White House.

But the Commander in Chief’s Ball, a tradition started by President George W. Bush in 2005, is solely for active duty servicemen and women, along with veterans, and will be free of charge for all guests.

“Michelle and I look forward to attending…and sharing this special evening with representatives of our armed forces,” Obama said in a statement.

Then there’s the Kids’ Inaugural Concert, which will be hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama along with Dr. Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joe Biden, on Jan. 19.

The star-studded roster for the festivities also includes country singer Brad Paisley, hip-hop quartet Far East Movement, Grammy-nominated indie-rock trio fun., cast members from Glee, Latin star Marc Anthony, America’s Got Talent host Nick Cannon, R&B singer-songwriter Smokey Robinson, among other yet to be announced.

Katy Perry Wins Big at the 2013 People’s Choice Awards

Katy Perry
Michael Buckner, Getty Images

Very nice way to start the new year, indeed, Katy! Perry took home the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Pop Artist, Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Music Video, with her KatyCats winning for Favorite Music Fan Following. Phew! Did you catch all that?

Perry said the Fan Following Award meant the most to her saying, “I think my fans support me so much. They’re kind of like my friends.”

Keeping her speech short and sweet, Perry did hint that she would be putting out new music in the near future, but surely did not say it with any urgency. She remarked, she would be back to “entertaining you… again. So back to the studio I go.”

With the whirlwind couple of years Perry has had, we don’t blame her for wanting to catch her breath before starting up on another album, tour etc… Perhaps she wants to focus on her budding relationship with John Mayer? Perhaps.

7 Celebrities Who Bounced Back From Bad Break-Ups With New Relationships (PHOTOS)

Olivia Wilde and Tao Ruspoli Heidi Klum and Martin Kristen

Big girls don’t cry.

Hollywood’s hottest ladies aren’t shedding any tears over their latest breakups. Instead, they’re happily moving onto their next relationships.

Case in point: Jennifer Lopez. The 43-year-old found love with her backup dancer, Casper Smart, 25, shortly after divorcing from Marc Anthony, 44.

Lopez and Anthony had been married for seven years, but called it quits in July, 2011. Months later, a happy Lopez was seen snuggling up to Smart while on her Dance Again world tour.

“Wide Awake” singer Katy Perry didn’t let her 2011 divorce to Russell Brand ruin her romantic spirit, either.

Perry, 26, began dating crooner John Mayer, 35, in summer of 2012 — but things didn’t officially heat up between them until October when the two spent Mayer’s 35th birthday together in New York City.

Who Was the Top Played Artist of 2012?

KatyPerry
Stephen Lovekin, Getty Images

Katy Perry sure has a lot to be proud of in 2012!

Not only has the singer had her hottest year in music since her debut, she was crowned ‘Hottest Woman‘ by Men’s Health Magazine and was recently named the victor of the most played artist on the radio last year!

When songs and artists from the past year come to mind, it’s pretty safe to assume that most people would mention Adele, ‘Call Me Maybe’ by Carly Rae Jepsen, or Gotye‘s smash ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’ as the most popular of 2012, but alas, Perry has proved that she is more than just a pretty face: she has staying power.

According to the Nielsen Company’s 2012 Music Industry report though, Gotye’s hit was the most played song on the radio, he just didn’t have another track to put him in the running for “artist.” Still a great accomplishment for him nonetheless.

Here’s how the Top 10 most played artists stacked up:

1. Katy Perry
2. Adele
3. Kelly Clarkson
4. Taylor Swift
5. Rihanna
6. Pink
7. Bruno Mars
8. Flo Rida
9. Kenny Chesney
10. Nicki Minaj

A huge congratulations to Miss Katy Perry! We know she has a ton in store for us for 2013!

Katy Perry and John Mayer Play In The Mud (PHOTOS)

Lovestruck? Yes. Concerned about their appearance. No.

Hollywood’s hottest couple, John Mayer and Katy Perry, have taken their carefree romance to Hawaii.

Sans make-up and looking like she did not have a worry in the world, 28-year-old Perry donned a tribal-print outfit and orange handkerchief draped around her neck as she posed for a series of candid shots with her new man, who took her off-roading at Kauai ATV Tours on New Year’s Day.

How romantic!

The pair has been especially loved up since the holidays.

Perry and Mayer visited a children’s hospital in her hometown of Santa Barbara, Calif. over Christmas — on behalf of the Dream Foundation, an organization that makes dreams come true for adults facing life-threatening illness.

The two also spent Christmas day with Perry’s family and even got into the holiday spirit with some costumes.

Perry posted a photo of Mayer, 35, dressed as Santa Claus on her Twitter with the caption, “Santa Baby.”

This isn’t the first time Perry has been spotted in Hawaii; soon after she split from her then-husband Russell Brand, Perry was snapped in a bikini frolicking in the ocean.

How times have changed! Share you congratulations with Katy in the messages below.

Who Should Win the 2013 People’s Choice Award for Favorite Pop Artist? – Readers Poll

Adele Katy Perry Justin Bieber Demi Lovato Pink

The 2013 People’s Choice Awards will air on Wednesday, Jan. 9, and the competition for Favorite Pop Artist is pretty stiff this year. Fans of Adele, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato and Pink have been putting those pointer fingers to work, voting non-stop for their favorite singer in order to help them snag the coveted, crystal clear statue… but who have you been voting for? We want to inside scoop!

While Adele hasn’t really been in the spotlight since the 2012 Grammy Awards, where she cleaned house thanks to her masterpiece ’21,’ she is still nominated for the 2013 Favorite Pop Artist People’s Choice award. The wave that is ’21′ will not break, and her most current batch of hits (like ‘Rumour Has It’ and ‘Set Fire to the Rain’) kept up their momentum throughout 2012. She also dropped the James Bond theme ‘Skyfall,’ another hauntingly beautiful piece of vocal work from Ms. Atkins.

Meanwhile, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber are also nominated. Both of these pop powerhouses had massive years in 2012, with K.P. releasing her ‘Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection’ deluxe album and Bieber unleashing his second studio album ‘Believe.’ Perry saw HUGE success with her new singles ‘Part of Me’ and ‘Wide Awake,’ which she performed out on tour and at a number of events this past year, while Bieber embarked on a world tour and ruled the airwaves with ‘Boyfriend,’ ‘As Long as You Love Me,’ and ‘Beauty and a Beat.’

Demi Lovato and Pink are also in the running for the Favorite Pop Artist PCA, and for good reason! On top of her radio domination with ‘Give Your Heart a Break,’ Lovato also inked a deal with ‘X Factor’ and appeared on the FOX reality show alongside fellow new judge Britney Spears, as well as vets L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell. Not bad for a lady who hasn’t even hit 21 yet!

And then there’s Pink, whose album ‘The Truth About Love’ was one of the biggest of 2012. She’s up for a bunch of Grammys for the LP, and her live performances of tracks like ‘Blow Me (One Last Kiss)’ and ‘Try’ created some incredibly memorable moments for us in 2012. Oh yeah, and she announced she’ll be going on tour with the Hives in 2013, which is pretty freakin’ awesome.

Let us know who you think should win the 2013 People’s Choice Award for Favorite Pop Artist by voting for Adele, Katy, Justin, Demi or Pink below. Also, be sure to stay tuned in with PopCrush on Wednesday, Jan. 9, too, as we’ll have complete live coverage of the People’s Choice Awards right here for you!

Katy Perry Tops Men’s Health List of ‘Hottest Women of 2013′

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the hottest woman of them all? Well, if you consult Men’s Health and the magazine’s list of Hottest Women of 2013, you’ll find that Katy Perry has been christened with that high honor. Congrats, Katy! You’re scorching, a towering inferno of hotness.

Rather than simply point out that her peers Beyonce, Rihanna and Taylor Swift also made this list, and extolling the virtues of why they were chosen, since we already know that they are hot and talented, let’s play a little game of association, shall we? Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon-style!

Perry, worshipped by men for her curvy figure, her insanely perky twins and her ability to laugh at herself, is currently being squired by that reformed cad known as John Mayer.

Mayer was a lothario with a big mouth, who wasn’t afraid to publicly accuse an ex of “cheap songwriting” (Swift) to call one “sexual napalm” (Jessica Simpson) or to chastise another for being behind the digital media times for not tweeting (Jennifer Aniston).

Both Swift and Aniston made the list, as did Perry, obviously. Simpson did not make the list, but she was pregnant in 2012 and will be for much of 2013, limiting her ability to parade around in skimpy, super sexy outfits all the live long day.

But isn’t it amazing that Mayer dated three women on the list, and one who could veritably have been on it? What’s that guy got, ladies?

Congrats to the ‘Wide Awake’ singer and ex-wife of Russell Brand for being recognized for her innate sexiness. We’re surprise RiRi didn’t take the top slot based on the sheer volume of topless photos she Instagrams in a single day.
