“Just had a good meeting with @JohnLloydTaylor to go over set list for South America. Can’t wait to get back out there. Who’s coming? #JONASBROTHERSSOUTHAMERICA” Nick tweeted.
This is supposed to be a “Jonas Year” according to a Trending Topic on Twitter just yesterday. But no one specified whether that would be positive or negative. So far, 2013′s shaping up to be the latter for the Jonas Brothers, since the trio was just slapped with a lawsuit by a fan.
In records obtained by TMZ, Ashleigh Johnson is suing the boy band family after being “agonizingly crushed” at one of their free concerts back in May 2010 at The Grove in Los Angeles. She claims that during their mid-day performance, she was “pushed by an uncontrolled crowd against a guard fence” and “suffered serious mental, emotional and physical injuries as a result.”
Ashleigh Johnson’s also suing Caruso Management Company, Ltd., the owners of The Grove, for negligence, suggesting that both they, and the Jonas Brothers, knew a large number of fans — both young and old — would should up to the venue, but proper security measures were not in place.
So far, no notice of how much she’s seeking, nor any comments from the band, has been released.
Currently, Kevin, Joe and Nick are preparing for their 2013 world tour in Latin and South America from February through March. For all of the details, visit JonasBrothersFanClub.com.
What do you think of the lawsuit? Do you think Ashleigh Johnson has a case? Should the Jonas Brothers be held responsible? Make sure to tell us your opinions in the comments below!
Ashleigh Johnson may have been a huge fan of the Jonas Brothers back in 2010, but her fandom has likely waned and dissipated, since she has filed a lawsuit against the trio.
Johnson, who declined to share her age in the claim, says that the band was so popular that she was crushed during an outdoor, afternoon concert at The Grove, a mall in Los Angeles, in May of 2010. She is also suing Caruso Management, the company that operates the “venue.”
According to TMZ, Johnson says that the she was trying to watch the group perform when Jo Bros groupies initiated a surge, pushing her forward against a guard rail. That’s an “occupational hazard” when you are a fan of a boy band. The crowds tend to become uncontrollable and push forward, trying to get closer to the object or objects of their affection. Beliebers and Directioners deal with crowd surges at Justin Bieber and One Direction shows, respectively. It’s not a new phenom.
Johnson claims to have been “agonizingly crushed” when pushed into the fence, resulting in serious mental, emotional and physical injuries.
We’re not sure what emotional injuries would stem from being pushed into a fence at a boy band show, other than, say, Joe Jonas not making eye contact with you despite repeated attempts to catch his attention. We’re also not sure why the fan waited nearly three years to file her suit, either.
In other Jo Bros. news, the threesome continue working on new material for their “comeback.”

Just picture it: Bright lights, the hottest celebrities, rousing musical numbers, a sea of partygoers, and, of course, that big, sparkly ball. There’s no doubt that New York City has become the mecca of merriment for New Year’s festivities.
Year after year, Hollywood’s biggest names gather in the heart of Times Square to take part in the year-end revelry — that always provides for a multitude of memorable TV moments — which have viewers turning up the volume (or, in some instances, switching the channel).
Remember when Lady Gaga shared a smooch with New York’s mayor, Michael Bloomberg, after ringing in 2012? Or when sexy Jennifer Lopezturned heads in nothing but a bedazzled bodysuit as she said hello to 2010.
Prior to making headlines for all the wrong reasons, Lindsay Lohan hit a high note in 2004, performing her song “Rumors.”
And who could forget Taylor Swift joining ex-beau Joe Jonas (and his brothers Kevin and Nick) on stage in 2008 — just months after their break-up. Awkward!
Speaking of TSwift, the “Red” singer returns for another NYE performance as she headlines ABC’s New Year’s Rockin Eve special hosted by Ryan Seacrest on Dec. 31. Also joining the star-studded lineup are Carly Rae Jepsen and Neon Trees in NYC, while Brandy, Flo Rida, Karmin, One Republic, and Pitbull will hit the stage in Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, Jersey Shore‘s Nicole “Snooki” Polizziand Jenni “JWoww” Farley will ring in 2013 with Ke$ha, Ne-Yo and Rita Ora for MTV’s Club NYE 2013.
What’s been your favorite NYE moment ever? Sound off in the comments!

The Jonas Brothers, which consists of Nick and his two older brothers Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas, are prepping to kick off their 2013 Latin America Tour on February 24th in Venezuela – JJJ wishes they could be there!
Earlier this week, Nick took a solo trip to the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood to watch a movie.
Not that anyone who loves the Jonas Brothers really needs any extra holiday spirit, but the boys in the band are always going the extra mile for their fans, and they just did it again with this year’s videotaped holiday message.
In the clip, sensibly titled ‘Jonas Brothers Holiday Message 2012,’ the brothers reflect on all the stuff they did in 2012 — including a tour and some time in the recording studio, as well as plenty of solo activity for the individual Jonases. As Nick put it, “We’ve really enjoyed seeing your faces this year. We’ve had a pretty amazing year, thanks to all of you with being able to go back on tour together, play shows again, be in the studio. Kevin with ‘Married to Jonas.’ Joe with his solo record and all that happened there.”
Nick, of course, starred in a Broadway revival of ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,’ but he brushed past Kevin’s attempt to talk about it. “It was a great year, but the most important thing for us is being back together, creating music again for all of you,” he continued. “And we’re definitely looking forward to continuing to do that for many, many years to come.”
And what can fans expect from the new record, due in 2013? As Nick told MTV in October, “The vibe right now that we’re trying to create, we’ve had kind of a really memorable … career we’re really thankful for up until this time, [and now we’re] hoping to create an experience for our fans that is really personal and shows a little bit deeper look into what our lives have been like, as far as lyrics. But musically we’re trying to push ourselves and continue to grow and get better.”
