‘Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars’: Two Champions Say Goodbye in Shocking Double Elimination (VIDEO)

ABC’s Dancing With the Stars results show brought double the trouble for the All-Star cast on Week 3 by eliminating two couples from the competition.

The results proved shocking, as we said goodbye to two former champions, neither of whom held the bottom score on the leaderboard.

Note: Spoilers ahead if you didn’t watch Tuesday’s episode.

Drew Lachey (Season 2) and Helio Castroneves (Season 5) were sent home on the season’s first double elimination week after their performance scores were tabulated with their viewer votes. Joining them in jeopardy, but saved were Kirstie Alley and Sabrina Bryan. While Helio did suffer a mishap in his quickstep, Drew did not. Drew’s cha cha was technically sound, energetic and entertaining, as seen in the video above. What might have hurt him is dancing first on Monday, a placement many see as a disadvantage.

Tied for second to last place on the leaderboard with Kirstie, Drew was given his walking papers first. His sadness was evident as he graciously said, “This was tough regardless of who went home, I would not change a thing… I had an amazing partner.” And with that Tom gave him a goodbye hug.

At the end of the hour, Helio was eliminated despite being tied in third place with three other couples. An upbeat Helio offered his gratitude: “I want to thank America, you guys voted for me… I couldn’t be happier, thank you.”

What does this mean for leaderboard bottom dweller Bristol Palin?

Despite a lack of dance skills and continually low scores, Bristol remains strong in the competition. Week after week, she earns enough votes to push better dances and higher scorers to the overall bottom. It tempts one to think Bristol could simply lie on the floor and still stay in the running. Is the Tea Party actively voting, or is that America just loves an underdog? Whatever the formula is, it works. And Bristol lives to dance another week.

Next week sees some new twists on Dancing with the Stars. The All-Star couples will perform for guest judge Paula Abdul, dancing a style chosen tonight by their competitors. The hook is that the dances are not common styles on the show.

Here’s the breakdown:

Bristol picked “Bollywood” for Gilles Marini
Kirstie picked “Disco” for Sabrina
Helio picked “Mambo” for Shawn Johnson
Kelly Monaco picked “Bolero” for Emmitt Smith
Melissa Roycroft picked “Hip Hop” for Apolo Ohno
Apolo picked “Jitterbug” for Melissa
Emmitt picked “Contemporary” for Kelly
Sabrina picked “Charleston” for Kirstie
Bristol gets the remaining dance from the list “Rock-n-Roll”

The Daily Buzz: Exclusive Anne Hathaway Wedding Details. Plus, ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Pro Kym Johnson Is In The Studio (VIDEO)

On Monday’s The Daily Buzz exclusive details inside Anne Hathaway’s fairytale million-dollar wedding.

The Les Miserables star often wears Valentino on Hollywood’s red carpets so it was no surprise she chose the designer to create the most important gown of her life.

Held in Big Sur, Calif. on Saturday, Hathaway’s ceremony was a lavish affair with a focus on white and with a rustic feel.

The couple spent more than $100,000 on flowers alone.

“The floral arrangements and wedding décor were simple and rustic,” a source told Celebuzz.

The flowers were arranged by The Velvet Garden, a floral design studio that specialized in high-end one of a kind designs. The florists previously created arrangements for the weddings of Drew Barrymore, Reese Witherspoon and Natalie Portman.

And, TDB gives you all your Dancing with the Stars news. In today’s episode The Buzz goes inside Helio Castroneves and Melissa Rycroft‘s dance rehearsals.

“Her attention span is quite different now,”  partner Tony Dovolani jokes about Rycroft. “It used to be like a mosquito, now actually, she pays attention.”

“Tony’s calmed down, a little bit,” Melissa says.

Plus, on Monday’s TBD before DWTS’s pro Kym Johnson hits the ballroom floor with Joey Fatone, she’s dishing about the All-Star season. Will the two-time champ survive the much anticipated second week of tv’s favorite dance competition?

‘Dancing With the Stars’: Chelsie Hightower and Helio Castroneves Talk Aging and Guilty Pleasures (EXCLUSIVE VIDEO)

Helio Castroneves can’t help but compare his Dancing With the Stars: All Stars partner Chelsie Hightower to the last partner he had five years ago: Julianne Hough.

Hightower has some big shoes to fill though — Castroneves and Hough won the Mirror Ball Trophy on Season 5. Hightower has never won in her six seasons on the show.

“Chelsie is an amazing talent, very much similar to Julianne. I have to say that she’s pushing harder, which is quite unusual,” Castroneves told Celebuzz when we caught up with the pair at rehearsal last week.

“Well, it’s the all star season! I have no other choice,” Hightower added.

So is Castroneves also working harder, since he’s had a five year break from competitive dancing?

“Maybe . . . actually, five years later, it does count,” he said.

What else did the pair reveal about the new season of ‘DWTS?’

With so many familiar faces on the All Stars edition, Hightower says it’s “cool to have everybody back.”

“It’s like one big party,” she told us.

But has anyone really been partying?

“It’s very hard to see each other. We’re practicing so much that the only guy I see all the time is Joey Fatone. He’s everywhere,” Castroneves said.

Celebuzz also asked the pair if they are practicing any strict diet regiments.

“I eat everything … well, not everything, I’m racing all the time. But I don’t eat red meat,” Castroneves told us.

“I love dessert, chocolates — my guilty pleasure — soft drinks,” he continued.

The next episode of Dancing With the Stars: All Stars airs on Monday at 8PM on ABC.
