Harry Styles of One Direction may have surprised Taylor Swift with a singing telegram for Christmas, but even that can’t top the best gift ever — which is from another guy she loves.
Sorry, Haylor haters, it’s not another T-Swizzle boyfriend. It was from her dad!
“The (best gift I ever received was) guitar I learned to play on,” she told ABC News. “It belonged to the guy who fixed my computer — he taught me a few chords on it when I was 12. Years later, my dad tracked him down and bought it. It was such a touching gift.”
Too cute! Of course, America’s sweetheart Swifty had to return the favor. She did so with a fun winter vacation.
“I gave my family a surprise trip to the seashore town where my dad grew up,” the ‘Red’ singer gushed. “We spent a few days just exploring, walking on the wintry beach and spending time as a family.”
We wouldn’t expect anything less thoughtful and generous from such a charitable gal.

Miley Cyrus and her fiancé, actor Liam Hemsworth, shared photos from their Christmas morning celebration. Big deal, right? Actually, yes.
The couple and the images got everyone talking, since Cyrus appeared to be wearing a gold band on the ring finger of her left hand, suggesting that they had already gotten married and were revealing the huge news in coy fashion. In the photo below, Liam is also sporting a band on his left hand.
At one point, there were rumors floating around that Cyrus, wearing leopard print, footed PJs and Santa hats and beards in the photos, was planning not one, not two, but three weddings to Hemsworth. While she shot that story down, we would never believe that she’d get married in secret and not share the photos of the beautiful dress or the good news with the world. At the very least, she would post photos of her dogs as the rings bearers and flower girls at the ceremony, since she is cray cray about her canines.
Speculation ran rampant, though, given the bling in the photos. Perhaps Cyrus and Hemsworth were having a little fun at the expense of the media and of their fans.
Maybe they just like wearing gold rings before they actually swap vows. It’s good preparation for when the big day finally arrives.

Dem Babies are getting so big. Mariah Carey and hubby Nick Cannon shared photos of their twins, Monroe and Moroccan, on Christmas.
It’s like Mimi opened up the family photo album and shared shots of her little lambs celebrating and enjoying the festive time of year. We love how naturally beautiful the diva looks without makeup. She has that motherhood glow.

Ho ho ho! John Mayer is so much more than a cad with a big mouth when it comes to relationships. The singer-songwriter and guitarist is also a great role player.
His GF Katy Perry tweeted a picture of him in a Santa Claus costume — giving off a sly grin in place of the furry white beard — on Christmas.
Perry added “Santa Baby” as the caption, which also affirms their status as a couple. You don’t call a guy “baby,” Santa outfit or not, unless things are romantic! It’s a foregone conclusion at this point.
Mayer and Perry reportedly spent the holiday with her family in Santa Barbara, Calif. Word is that Mayer gave Perry a customized guitar as a present, as well. How thoughtful of him!
Us Weekly reports that the musical twosome is “seriously in love and exclusive” and that Mayer loves how “cool and smart she is.” The source also said that Mayer is determined to shed his previous rep as a serial dater who blabs about his relationships. (He once referred to Jessica Simpson as “sexual napalm.”)
But that’s all Mayer of old. The insider said, “John has proved he’s matured and learned from his mistakes . . . Katy is blown away.”
The duo also visited a local hospital on Dec. 22, making the charitable rounds for the holiday.
My, what a difference a year makes. Last year at this time, Perry announced that she and hubby Russell Brand were splitting. Now, she is coupled up with a fellow musician and has moved on.
Perry and Mayer seem to be a good fit because of their musical nature. Earlier this month, they were snapped taking in a Rolling Stones gig in New Jersey.

Nothing screams a perfect Christmas present like a singing telegram, right?
Since Harry Styles and Taylor Swift spent the holiday apart with their respective families (following their ski trip in Utah), Styles thought it’d be a great idea to gift Swift with something she’d never forget: a singing telegram of One Direction‘s ‘What Makes You Beautiful,’ sung in a country style, no less.
Of course, Swift had a pretty great sense of humor about the whole thing. How could you not, right? We wouldn’t mind a singing telegram of that song. Not to mention that he planned the entire surprise before flying back to England for the holidays. She should be so lucky to have a guy as thoughtful as that. He’s probably already planning her Valentine’s Day gift!
And while the two lovebirds were sadly miles and miles away for Christmas, the two managed to spend a little quality time together via Skype, as most couples would in a long distance relationship. But not only did they talk, they opened presents together using the webcam device.

The holidays are my favorite time of year, especially since I’m on the road so much. To make things even sweeter, this year I’m doing something I’ve never done before — I’m providing design insight and inspiration to a life-size gingerbread house at Great Wolf Lodge. Throughout the month of December, when families dine inside these edible creations, a portion of the proceeds will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Some of the design inspiration that I’ve added to these sweet treats include, icing icicles dripping from the roof, candy button wallpaper, poinsettias made of gingerbread and a sled out front giving the houses some candy curb appeal.
Families that visit one of the 11 Great Wolf Lodge properties nationwide can get inspired to create their own winter wonderlands at home.
A really easy, fun and inexpensive decoration families can do together is a festive holiday photo frame.
With a simple wood frame found at your local craft store, kids can get creative by decorating with glue sticks and candy. Red and green Pop Rocks, Nerds and peppermints are some of my favorites.
This is a great indoor project kids can do when it’s too cold to play outside, and the finished project is a perfect treat to hold your holiday family photos all season long.
Additional tips and tricks for turning your home into a winter wonderland this year include:
· When decorating your Christmas tree, use fake snow, clear lights, and ornaments adorned in white and silver alongside glass icicles, to give a snowy, outdoor feel. Don’t forget to use spray snow or flocking before you light and decorate the tree!
· In the dining room, lay a white tablecloth across the table and add a centerpiece of red and silver ornaments or pine cones sprinkled with silver glitter. Include subtle light with candles atop a festive table runner. Adding a dimmer switch in the room will really set the mood at dinnertime with your loved ones.
· Spread cheer throughout the house by introducing new seasonal colors with throw pillows or blankets. Red, green and silver accents will give your home an updated holiday feel without breaking the bank.
· Decorate the windows with spray frost or stickers and place a flameless candle in each window to shimmer on the snow at night.
· To put the finishing touches on your holiday home both inside and out, take the decorating outside by lining the driveway with white lights and hanging icicle lights from the rooftop.

Singer JoJo got into the Christmas spirit during a recent, multi-song acoustic session. She belted out ‘The Christmas Song’ in addition to a handful of other tunes. It’s certainly a lovely rendition, one that would pair nicely with exercises like tree-trimming, guzzling eggnog or stuffing your face with gingerbread men.
The set, taped for ‘The Splash’ on That Grape Juice, included her big hit ‘Too Little Too Late,’ the new song ‘Andre’ and her hit ‘Demonstrate.’ But JoJo really shines brightest when she hits the high notes on the warm and fuzzy holiday classic. Stripping down — vocally, not to her skivvies — certainly showed fans the full range of JoJo’s voice, which is that of a belter who sounds far older than her 22 years (she just had a birthday on Dec. 20).
She also looks adorbs with a swipe of “right now” hot pink lipstick on her pout and her backwards cap, which kept her thick, chestnut mane of hair out of her pretty face. Check out that major statement ring on her right hand, too. That thing could cause some damage.
We also lurve when she looks at the camera and addresses it mid-song during ‘Too Little Too Late.’ It’s like she’s singing to us!

While serial dater John Mayer and serial candy dress wearer Katy Perry haven’t even officially confirmed their romance after several months of dating, public outings and photo opps, details of Mayer’s customized Christmas present for the pop diva have been unveiled.
In what can be deemed as an incredibly thoughtful and romantic gesture, Mayer put lots of effort into having a customized guitar made for Perry. Apparently, he wants to erase his former image as a blabbermouthing womanizer. Consult the Taylor Swift, Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson reference guide and Mayer Dating Playbook for instances of his gaffes.
A source told The Sun (quotes via Female First), “John has put some serious effort into his Christmas gift for Katy. Since they met, he has been trying to prove he isn’t the guy everyone says he is. This should definitely prove that — every little detail on the guitar shows how much he thinks of her.”
So what has he done to the instrument to prove his high regard for the ‘Wide Awake’ singer and to show he’s not the cad we all thought he was? Well, it is supposedly covered in intricate designs, including her initials (KP or KH, since her real last name is Hudson?) and the date on which they met.
Can we get a collective “Aw?” One, two, three: “Awwww!”
The thoughtful gift is just the tip of the romantic iceberg for the duo. They are reportedly shopping for digs in Los Angeles, putting their feet on the relationship gas pedal. An insider shared, “John and Katy have decided to give it a proper go and want to find a place in L.A. to share.”
They also are keenly aware that people are rooting against their relationship, given his dicey history. “But lots of people are willing them to fail,” the source said. “They row a bit and have quite a turbulent up-and-down relationship, despite it only being a few months old. Many of her friends are certain it will all end in tears. But that’s brought them closer in a way. It’s given them an ‘us against the world’ mentality.”
They are also together daily, according to the source, doing coupled up things like cooking, watching movies and playing music at his crib.
Sounds like love. Now they can make beautiful music together with Perry’s customized guitar.

Being one of Lady Gaga‘s bazillion Twitter followers has its perks. The Mother Monster is home for the holidays, and she has been hanging with the Germanotta family and tweeting shopping advice to her followers, fully admitting that she clips coupons and looks for money-saving deals.
Even though Gaga rakes in millions of dollars as one of the most successful pop stars of her generation, that doesn’t prevent her from enjoying the wares at vintage stores or seeking out bargains when shopping.
It also turns out that the OG Mother Monster — her own mama Cynthia Germanotta — put “Stefani” in her place during Christmas preparations. Oddly, Gaga spelled her real name wrong. But we love how Mama G wears the platforms in this relationship. So adorbs. It’s like we got a real world taste of Gaga when she is home and hanging.
