Britney Spears Makes ‘The X Factor’ Exit Official

Britney Spears leaves X Factor

Britney Spears has officially taken her final bow as a judge on The X Factor.

In light of rampant reports this week that the songstress is leaving the popular singing competition show, the 31-year-old has confirmed today she won’t be back for a second season, Celebuzz has confirmed.

Instead, she wants to get back to the music that made her the Princess of Pop.

“I’ve made the very difficult decision not to return for another season,” Spears said in a statement obtained by Celebuzz. “I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens, but it’s time for me to get back in the studio.

“Watching them all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much!” she added. “I can’t wait to get back out there and do what I love most.”

Celebuzz was the first to report that planning meetings for Season 3 of The X Factor have been underway and the “Toxic” singer’s participation going forward wasn’t on the agenda.

So what will the singing sensation tackle next?

The rumor mill is already buzzing that the blonde beauty will hit the Las Vegas stage to perform in her very own Celine Dion-style show, with a source telling Celebuzz that die-hard Brit fans could see her take over the main stage mic sooner than we think.

“She is very interested in a Vegas residency,” a source close to the singer told Celebuzz, “and is in serious talks with one of the major casino groups.”

Whitney Houston Tribute Concert Announced: Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Usher Set to Perform

Whitney Houston‘s legacy lives on through her family, friends, fans — and now, through a television tribute.

The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences announced on Thursday that a tribute concert has been set for the late superstar. During the one-hour special — scheduled to air Nov. 16 at 10PM on CBS — Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson and Usher will honor Houston through performances.

How else will the program remember the fallen pop icon?

The CBS special, titled We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston, will feature never-before-seen footage and interviews from the beloved singer.

Houston was found dead in her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Feb. 11, on the eve of this year’s Grammy Awards. She was 48.

According to the academy, the special will also air iconic performances Houston gave throughout her illustrious career, including several showstopping Grammy performances. The “I Will Always Love You” singer’s last appearance on the award show was in 2009, when she presented Hudson with her first-ever Grammy for Best R&B Album.

In other Houston news, Lifetime recently announced a premiere date for The Houstons: On Our Own, a 14-episode reality series featuring the singer’s daughter Bobbi Kristina, sister-in-law Pat, brother Gary, mother Cissy and family friend Nick Gordon.

The series, which will premiere on Oct. 24, will be preceded by a one-hour special, Remembering Whitney, airing Oct. 17 at 9PM ET/PT on Lifetime.

Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Sarah Jessica Parker and More: Stars Who Are Parents to Twins (GALLERY)

Everything is better in pairs — especially for new parents Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, who welcomed twins into the world.

“The babies were born a few weeks early, but are in good health and both Mom and Dad are overjoyed,” said a joint statement from their reps on Wednesday.

And the True Blood costars-turned-lovers certainly aren’t the first celebrities to get a double delivery from the stork.

So what other couples in Hollywood are proud parents to twins?

From Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, to Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, plenty of A-listers have had a dose of double baby joy.

On their third wedding anniversary, Carey and Cannon welcomed fraternal twins, son Moroccan and daughter Monroe in April 2011.

Parker and Broderick didn’t want to settle for one offspring: In June 20092, the Sex and the City star and her actor hubby welcomed twin girls Marion Loretta and Tabitha Hodge via surrogate, joining big brother James Wilkie.

And Brangelina added to their seemingly ever-growing brood in July 2008, when the actress gave birth to fraternal twins Vivienne and Knox in Nice, France.

Find out what other celebrities have dealt with twice the diaper duty in Celebuzz’s gallery.
