Must be nice to be Blue Ivy! The beautiful baby daughter of Jay-Z and Beyonce marked her first birthday on Jan. 7, and her proud parents celebrated in a big way.
Hov and Bey plunked down $200,000 in total on Blue’s birthday soiree. Nothing is too good for their little princess! Where did that cash go?
The Sun reports that the power couple spent $95,000 on pink and white roses for the party (why not blue ones?!), which had a princess theme. The birthday cake cost over $2,000, while the pair spent a mint on gift bags for their young guests, featuring toys, princess outfits, personalized engraved gold pens, playhouses and jewelry to the tune of $30,000.
A source told the tab, “Nothing’s been too big or expensive for their little princess. They wanted her first birthday to set the tone for the rest of her life. They work hard for their money and the first thing they want to spend it on is their baby girl.” The sourced added, “It’s hard to imagine how they can top this next year — or what her Sweet Sixteen will be like.”
Aside from the party, what was Blue’s gift? A cool $80,000 diamond-encrusted Barbie doll. And, you know, that $1 million nursery.

When it comes to Jay-Z and Beyonce‘s baby Blue Ivy, it’s clear that money is no object. The couple reportedly rents a swank nursery at Barclays Center for a cool $1 million per year.
According to Us Weekly, the luxurious lower-level accommodations are outfitted with plenty of goodies for the baby girl. “Jay rents a luxurious basement suite for $1 million a year,” the source says. “It has an area for Blue filled with toys.”
Of course, Blue Ivy doesn’t get to have all the fun. The magazine also reports that the rapper has his own VIP space, which is the most expensive of 11 boxes for rent. Just to give you an idea, the average space goes for $550,000. “It’s all glass with a champagne bar and TV screen,” says the source. “Jay lets friends use his digs when he’s not there.”
Blue Ivy has experienced much of the luxe life, and there’s no doubt that her parents will throw her the party of the year since she turned 1 today (Monday, Jan. 7). A word to invited guests, don’t even think about getting her a pair of kicks. The tiny tot allegedly already has a pair of Swarovski-encrusted sneakers specially designed by Ruthie Davis.

The moment Kanye West announced that his lady love Kim Kardashian was expecting their first child, fans around the world started to wonder what the happy couple will call their bundle of joy.
SoCelebuzzspoke exclusively to Jennifer Moss, author of The One-In-A-Million Baby Name Book, to weigh in on what’s really in a name for the newest addition to the Kardashian clan — and answer the big question: Will “K” play a key part in the moniker?
“Kim and Kanye could very well pick a ‘K’ name,” said Moss, noting that Kim’s mother Kris Jenner famously named her daughters Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kylieand Kendall. “It’s a family tradition and baby-naming trend. Conveniently, Kanye is a part of the ‘K’ family as well.”
But regardless of the Kardashians’ immense popularity, the letter they helped make famous isn’t on top of the baby list.
“At the moment, the ‘K’ names aren’t so popular,” Moss said. “But those that are on the rise are Kayden for boys and Kayla and Keira for girls, like Keira Knightley.”
Although Kourtney, 33, decided to veer outside the family tradition — and the family tree — by naming her babies Mason and Penelope, her little sis and her baby-daddy could keep it all in the family.
“Kim and Kanye could include their parents when choosing their baby names, as many couples do to pay their respect,” Moss noted.
When choosing their baby’s name, Kimye should follow these ground rules from Moss, founder and CEO of babynames.com:
1. Make sure you see the name from the child’s point of view. 2. Don’t pick a name that will turn into a joke. If you’re not 100% sure that the name isn’t a laughfest, test it out by using it at a coffee shop — and gauging the barista’s reaction. 3. Don’t make the name something hard to pronounce. 4. If you’re looking for something unique, don’t use a name that’s popular. There could be 10 Owens in one kindergarten class. 5. Don’t forget about what the initials will spell — you don’t want to spell out something embarrassing.
Kim and Kanye, meanwhile, shouldn’t follow the advice of another famous duo: West’s BFF Jay-Zand his wife Beyonce. The name of their nearly one-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, hasn’t fared well with fans — and was actually voted the No. 1 worst celebrity baby name.
“Many fans wrote that Ivy Blue would have been a better choice, because blue actually means depressed,” said Moss, who then gave some more advice in how to play the name game. “The general public does not respond well to noun names like Lion or Apple, or worse, an adjective and a noun.”

Beyonce shared another new photo of daughter Blue Ivy, who will celebrate her first birthday on Jan. 7. Bey is known to use her website as her family photo album so fans can take a peek at her life offstage and as a mom.
While we can’t see Blue’s beautiful face up close, the love between mom and baby girl is obvious in this silhouette shot. Notice that beautiful blue water behind them. That’s no coincidence. There’s two beautiful Blues in this shot.
Baby Blue looks a bit like proud papa Jay-Z from what we can tell of her profile, too! We can’t wait to see more of her up close. Show us, Bey.

Beyonce shared a new photo of herself nuzzling daughter Blue Ivy on her Tumblr site while celebrating her first Thanksgiving as a mama. It’s painfully obvious from this affectionate, intimate shot of mother and daughter that baby Blue is the love of Queen Bey’s life.
While we see Bey, with her hair pulled taut and braided in tight cornrows, rocking some chunky gold bling in the form of earrings and a ring, smooching her little girl, we don’t see much of Blue’s face. Instead, we get a shock of curly hair and a look at her cute cobalt and white outfit. It matches mom’s! But that’s about it. Even without a good look at her, we can tell Blue is a happy and loved baby.
Bey also posted a black and white photo of hubby and baby daddy Jay-Z walking with Blue cradled in his arms. It’s also shot from the back and at a distance, so we don’t get an up close and personal peek at Baby Blue or her daddy. It’s quite artsy, though.
As is her signature, Bey posted a handwritten note wishing all of her fans and visitors a Happy Thanksgiving.
While Bey posted the pics on Thanksgiving (Nov. 22), we’re not sure If these photos were taken yesterday. If they were, then the Carters looked to have been at some sort of exotic or tropical, warm locale while celebrating Turkey Day. We wonder when they were taken simply because Bey shows no signs of the heavy bangs she was rocking on Election Night. Those could have been clip ins, but still!

Move over Suri Cruise, Blue Ivy Carter’s got quite the shoe collection already. The eight-month-old daughter of Beyonce and Jay-Zalready owns Marc Jacob and Jeremy Scott x Adidas kicks, and she is growing a shoe collection that most adults would be jealous of.
Shoe designer, Ruthie Davis, took to her Facebook Sept. 24 and posted a snapshot of the adorable booties exclaiming, “Take a look at the Baby Ruthie’s I made especially for Beyonce and Jay-Z’s daughter Blue Ivy…so sweet, right?”
It looks like the mini fashionista has officially garnered herself a pair of custom-made kicks. The one-of-a-kind shoes are bound to land baby B on Hollywood’s best dressed list.
Beyonce can take a page from her daughter’s trend-setting style — Blue Ivy’s shoes are available in the adult version for just under $2000.
True to form,Beyonce celebrated her 31st birthday in class — on a yacht off the coast of the South of France with baby Blue Ivy and husband Jay-Z.
Looking yacht chic in an all-blue getup, the songstress paid homage to her music mogul hubby with a “J” letter-man sweater. The power couple took a break from their busy schedules, relaxing with fine food and wine, lounging on the yacht’s decks and taking in the awe-inspiring landscape through binoculars.
How did Jay-Z help his wife relax on her special day?
The nine-month-old is quickly becoming a pro at luxury travel. Just last week, she was spotted getting out of a helicopter in New York with her famous dad.
And over Labor Day weekend, Jay and Bey hit up Philadelphia, Penn., where the Roc-A-Fella founder put on his first-ever Made in America Music Festival. Beyonce watched on while her husband headlined the tour for a crowd of nearly 50,000 concertgoers, dancing during his performances of “99 Problems” and “Dirt of Your Shoulder.”
Some of the couple’s famous friends made special appearances at the festival, including Rita Ora, Kanye West, Pusha T and Big Sean.
President Barack Obama even made a cameo via a prerecorded broadcast, reminding the crowd to vote in this year’s upcoming election and telling the audience that Jay’s journey to superstardom is “what Made In America means.”
