These Kardashians never cease to surprise me. Barely 24 hours after breaking up with Tyga, Kylie Jenner is reportedly now dating rapper Asap Rocky. SMH!

Kylie and A$ap Rocky partied all night at Hyde on the Sunset Strip in WeHo. The duo were later photographed in the same SUV while trying to dodge the cameras by covering their faces.

A$AP Rocky Talks Suicidal Thoughts on ‘Phoenix’ Track

Depression is a condition affecting a widespread percentage of Americans on a daily basis, but the social stigma attached to it — and the lack of resources afforded our public mental healthcare system — means it’s often swept under the rug. On his debut album ‘Long.Live.A$AP,’ rapper ASAP Rocky is doing his part to raise awareness.

Rocky discussed the topic during a recent interview with MTV (embedded above), delving into the dark thoughts that inspired his song ‘Phoenix.’

Reflecting on the lyrics “Bloody ink on my pad spelled suicide / Michael Jackson even passed cause you scrutinized,” Rocky told the network, “Those are natural feelings that we all get sometimes. You hurt so bad and you’re going through so much pain to the point where sometimes you don’t even wanna live anymore. That’s how a lot of people think, whether we’d like to admit it or not and that’s all I was showcasing. It was that emotion… suicidal kinda emotions.”

As MTV’s report points out, ‘Phoenix’ comes at a poignant time in the hip-hop community, given the recent suicides of rappers Capital STEEZ and Freddy E. And for Rocky, it’s all about shining a light on a subject too many of us would rather ignore.

“I’m not glorifying it at all,” he concluded. “I’m just basically telling you that sometimes I have suicidal thoughts. And maybe I should seek help, or maybe it’s not that deep.”

A$AP Rocky + Florence Welch Song ‘I Come Apart’ Hits the Internet

Rapper A$AP Rocky‘s new album ‘Long.Live.A$AP’ boasts an array of big-name collaborations including one with Florence Welch called ‘I Come Apart.’ The song will appear on the deluxe version of the album, which hits stores Jan. 15.

Produced by Emile Haynie and Amanda Ghost, the track features an echoing boom-bap beat and Flo’s trademark falsettos on the chorus. On it, Rocky raps about love and heartbreak.

I thought you said you would never leave / I think back as I took a puff / You know what happens every time you leave / Always come back ’cause you want to f— / Always come back ’cause you want to bust / Holding back / Ain’t no turning back when you fall in love,” he spits. Near the end of the song, we are treated to Welch’s ear-piercing yodeling of “I come apart / Nothing lasts forever.”

We don’t know if hip-hop heads will embrace the Harlem rapper’s experimental rap-pop song, but it’s certainly different. Along with Skrillex‘s ‘Wild for the Night‘ and the posse track ‘1 Train,’ Rocky has quite an eclectic album. We’ll have to see how consumers respond to it on Jan. 15.

What do you think of A$AP Rocky’s ‘I Come Apart’? Tell us in the comments below.

A$AP Rocky Discusses ‘Long.Live.A$AP’ Collabs + Goals for 2013

In 2012, A$AP Rocky (real name Rakim Mayers) took the music and fashion world by storm with his hybrid hip-hop sound and unique sense of fashion style. The 24-year-old Harlem native is ready to kick off 2013 on a high note with his debut album, ‘Long.Live.A$AP,’ due in stores Jan. 15.

A year ago, Rocky was virtually unknown until he dropped his hard-hitting mixtape ‘Live.Love.A$AP,’ which was celebrated by music bloggers and tastemakers alike. Record labels started calling, and Rocky inked with Polo Grounds Music, under the RCA-Sony banner.

And a star was born.

Not bad for kid who has experienced some tough times growing up in Harlem, U.S.A. But Rocky’s steely confidence and perseverance has enabled him to survive, hence the A$AP moniker, which stands for “Always Strive and Prosper.”

Rocky’s new album, ‘Long.Live.A$AP,’ is a great hip-hop album that should make his core fans happy. One of the most-talked about songs on the collection is his posse track ‘1 Train,’ which features an all-star of well-versed emcees Kendrick Lamar, Big K.R.I.T., Joey BadA$$, Action Bronson and Yelawolf.

The self-proclaimed “Dat Pretty Motherf—er” talked to PopCrush about his new album, his upcoming tour with Rihanna, and what he’s looking to accomplish in 2013. (Note: This interview was conducted before A$AP Rocky’s father passed away. We send our heartfelt condolences to his family.)

Congratulations on your success in 2012. I’m sure you’re happy that the album is finally coming out after a long delay.
Thank you. Yeah, I’m glad man. I’m happy that people will finally get to hear what I’ve been working on this whole time.

First off we have to talk about the posse track ’1 Train.’ That song is crazy. How did the idea come about for that incredible song?
It was my idea. I just wanted people to hear a posse cut that no one has ever heard before in a long time.

Were all of them in the studio together? Was it competitive?
Well, some of us were [in the studio together]. I wasn’t in the studio with [Big] K.R.I.T. and Yelawolf. Of course, it was competitive [in the booth], but that’s what hip-hop is about. It’s all love, though, at the end of the day.

Your album, ‘Long.Live.A$AP,’ has some interesting collaborations. You have a song ‘I Come Apart’ with Florence Welch from Florence + the Machine. Were you a fan of their music?
Honestly, I was never into them until they reached out. I knew about them because they won Grammys and stuff. After that I got into them. It was great working with them on that song.

And you have a song with Skrillex called ‘Wild for the Night,’ which might surprise a few people with that collaboration.
Skrillex is my boy. We just wanted to create a song for those wild parties and stuff, you know?

We loved the haunting track ‘Phoenix’ with producer Danger Mouse.
Yeah, I was familiar with his music through Gnarls Barkley — ‘The Odd Couple’ album and stuff. I really wanted to work with him. So I hope people will dig the record.

You also have a song called ‘Fashion Killa.’ Since you have been killing the game with your unique fashion style, will there ever be a A$AP clothing line in the future?
No…no…no. I’m cool on that.

Was there any particular event in 2012 that was most memorable for you?
Completing my project for one. Performing for the first time at different award shows was memorable. My first time performing on big records with Usher [‘Hot Thing’], Lil Wayne, Rihanna [‘Cockiness’] and touring with Drake. It’s been a good year for me.

What about grabbing Rihanna’s booty at the MTV Video Music Awards? That was the most memorable grab of 2012.
You funny, bruh. She’s the homie, though.

Are you excited about touring with Rihanna on her Diamonds World Tour? Will there be any pyrotechnics with your stage show?
I’m very excited about that, it’s going to be fun. I don’t know about all that other stuff. I don’t know.

Have you and Rihanna discussed what your plans are going to be on the trek?
Not yet, maybe next year we’ll talk.

Oh, and congratulations on the signing of A$AP Ferg to Sony Music.
Thank you, thank you. I’m real happy for him. He’s next in line, so look out for him.

On a separate note, what do you think about the sudden rise of Trinidad James? He’s currently experiencing the same kind of buzz you had a couple of years ago. What advice would give him because all eyes are watching him right now?
Honestly, I feel that the rap game needs more creative people like him, who are coming in and doing their own thing, ya feel me? But also I feel, like, a lot of people get to a certain stage and then they flop or fumble the ball and everything is f—ed up. If I had any advice for him, it’s don’t lose it, hang in there and don’t lose your head.

Finally, what are your goals for 2013?
I want to stay out of trouble and keep making creative s—, ya feel me? I want people to go buy my album and listen to it. I really worked hard on it and I’m really proud of myself. Enjoy it.

A$AP Rocky Sued by Alleged Assault Victim Who Says Illegal Drugs Were Involved

A$AP Rocky is on the receiving end of a lawsuit stemming from the July altercation in which he attacked two photographers. A man who says Rocky assaulted him claims the rapper was taking illegal drugs before the attack.

According to TMZ (via The Drop), the initial alleged victim, Shenick Alcine, says he encountered Rocky in a clothing store and saw the rapper getting high, though he didn’t specify what kind of drugs he witnessed Rocky using. Alcine claims Rocky then attacked him, which led two photographers to begin filming the incident.

When Rocky noticed the cameras, he left Alcine and began going after the photographers. The rapper was arrested and charged with assault and robbery, but he eventually received only a fine and community service after agreeing to plead guilty to a charge of grand larceny for attempting to take the cameras.

Rocky’s camp did not respond to TMZ’s requests for comment.

Hopefully A$AP Rocky can keep himself out of trouble, because his debut, ‘Long.Live.A$AP,’ reaches retailers on Jan. 15, 2013 and he hits the road to tour with Rihanna in the spring. He told NME that his new year’s resolution is “to put out the best f—ing record ever. I think I’ve done that, so maybe I need another one.”

Sad news to report in the hip-hop community. A$AP Rocky‘s father passed away. The Harlem rhyme-spitter confirmed the sad news on his Twitter feed today (Dec. 26) with a picture of his late dad.

“R.I.P DAD , UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN. SEE MY DADDY IN HEAVEN , HE BE DA REALIST G” TTTL,” he solemnly tweeted (spotted by Global Grind).

No word on how Rocky’s father died, but this isn’t the first time Rocky had to grieve over an untimely death in the family. The 24-year-old rapper lost his older brother to the street life when he was about 13 years old.

In an interview with Vice, Rocky explained how his father influenced his unique fashion style. “Well, my dad is from Barbados. He was a clean cut kind of a guy, especially in the way he dressed,” he told the website. “I just took the advice he gave me and I ran with it. He told me to always be yourself and always feel comfortable with whatever decision you make because you chose to do it. Just because something doesn’t fit in doesn’t mean it’s not right.”

Upon hearing the news of Rocky’s father passing, Rihanna went on Twitter and tweeted out her sympathy to his family. “My most sincere condolences bro #BajanBlood,” she wrote on her timeline. As you know, the two will be hitting the road together in March on the Diamonds World Tour.

A$AP Rocky is survived by his mother and young sister. We send our condolences to Rocky’s family and friends during this difficult time.

A$AP Rocky Premieres Gothic and Gaudy ‘Long Live A$AP’ Video

A$AP Rocky gives fans an early Christmas present with the release of his new video for the title track, ‘Long Live A$AP.’ The clip takes viewers into the dreams of the Harlem rapper with plenty of visuals that might leave you scratching your head.

In the black-and-white video, we are hit with a variety of imagery, including lighting, water droplets, rose petals, knights in shinning armor, gold grills and two Asian women stick fighting. In the middle of the menagerie is Rocky wearing a bulletproof vest and, of course, rocking the latest fashions.

The video was directed by Samantha Lecca and co-directed by Dat Pretty Motherf—er himself. Rocky’s debut album, ‘Long.Live.A$AP,’ will arrive in stores on Jan. 15.

Watch Big Boi Perform ‘Lines’ with A$AP Rocky and Phantogram

If you haven’t copped Big Boi‘s excellent ‘Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors’ album, then what are you waiting for? One of the LP’s standout tracks is ‘Lines,’ which features A$AP Rocky and Phantogram. Big Boi released a live music video for the song, and it’s awesome.

Filmed during his album release party in Atlanta, Boi, Rocky and Phantogram singer Sarah Barthel rock out to the atmospheric joint in front of a very subdued crowd. There’s all kinds of genre-melting bonding going on stage with the trio. We love how Barthel is getting her bounce on as Rocky spits his crazy wordplays.

What’s also great about this video is we get to see painter Misha Tyutyunik recreate a colorful portrait of Boi’s already animated album cover.

Big Boi’s concert performance is a picturesque moment that we hope to see again and again.

A$AP Rocky Drops ‘Long Live A$AP’ Song; Video Premiering on Sunday

A$AP Rocky Long Live A$AP Single
RCA Records

If you didn’t know by now, A$AP Rocky‘s debut album ‘Long.Live.A$AP’ has sprung a leak, much to his record label’s chagrin. However, the Harlem rhyme-spitter is taking it stride and is moving forward with his second single, the title track, ‘Long Live A$AP.’

Produced by Jim Jonsin and Rico Love, the song feels like doomsday with its bombastic bass drops, gun blasts and screwed-up vocals. But the sound takes a moody turn on the chorus with its eerie guitars and a melodic falsetto singing, “Who said you can’t live forever, lied / Of course, I’m living forever.”

On the track, Rocky spits paranoic rhymes about prison, purple sipping, robbery and gun-toting kids. “My Santa Claus was missing, catch you slippin’ then it’s Christmas,” he raps detailing his former days as a stick-up kid. “Motherf— a wishlist, my ghetto was my ambition.”

If you love the hard-hitting song, then you’re going to enjoy his accompanying music video. Rocky will premiere the clip on MTV 2 at 11AM EST on Sunday (Dec. 23). “It’s going to be stunning, wait till you see it,” he told PopCrush exclusively.

Despite the album leaking online, Rocky’s ‘Long.Live.A$AP.’ sounds like it’s going to be one of the biggest rap albums of 2013. You can officially cop the LP on Jan. 15.

After the fantastic posse track ‘1 Train‘ leaked online, another eclectic A$AP Rocky joint has surfaced featuring dubstep producer Skrillex. The song ‘Wild For the Night’ is a crazy tune that should make dub heads giddy in the clubs.

Middle finger to the critics, me and my n—a Skrillex / You know we finna kill it, A$AP, we the trillestt,” raps Rocky about him and his good friend Skrillex.

The EDM beat master laced the track with wiry electro bleeps, crashing sounds and a head-nodding beat that’s tailor-made for wilding out. On the second verse, Rocky recalls a night of ribaldry. “It’s the weekend and I’m creepin with my n—as / Drunk and disrespectful, calling women b—-es / I don’t mean no harm but won’t you and your friends / Meet us in the cut and we can do the business,” he raps in warped out voice.

A$AP Rocky has several unique collaborations on his debut album, ‘Long.Live.A$AP,’ including a song with singer Florence Welch called ‘I Come Apart.’ The album, which, unfortunately has already leaked on the Internet, will officially arrive in stores on Jan. 15.
