Beyonce Announces New Destiny’s Child Single, Greatest Hits Album

Destiny's Child Love Songs
Sony Legacy

For those of you hankering to hear some new music from Destiny’s Child you are in luck. Beyonce just announced on her Facebook page that a new song titled ‘Nuclear’ will appear on the group’s greatest hits compilation ‘Love Songs.’

‘Nuclear’ is the trio’s first new track in over eight years. The song was produced by Pharrell Williams and co-written by DC member Michelle Williams (no relation to Pharrell). No word on when the song will hit the Internet, but you can pre-order the album, which will be available on Jan. 29, at Amazon.com. ‘Love Songs’ is a greatest-hits collection featuring Destiny’s Child’s most romantic ballads recorded between 1997 and 2004.

So with this new song, we have to surmise that Destiny’s Child might reunite during Beyonce’s halftime concert at Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans on Feb. 3. That will certainly be a memorable moment to behold, if it does happen.

The Beyonce takeover is certainly in full swing in 2013. The R&B mom is featured on the cover of GQ magazine’s February issue and there’s rumors that she will appear on a new Justin Timberlake song with her hubby Jay-Z.

Wow! Can you feel the electricity in the air?

Are you excited for this new Destiny’s Child track? Tell us in the comments below.

A$AP Rocky + Florence Welch Song ‘I Come Apart’ Hits the Internet

Rapper A$AP Rocky‘s new album ‘Long.Live.A$AP’ boasts an array of big-name collaborations including one with Florence Welch called ‘I Come Apart.’ The song will appear on the deluxe version of the album, which hits stores Jan. 15.

Produced by Emile Haynie and Amanda Ghost, the track features an echoing boom-bap beat and Flo’s trademark falsettos on the chorus. On it, Rocky raps about love and heartbreak.

I thought you said you would never leave / I think back as I took a puff / You know what happens every time you leave / Always come back ’cause you want to f— / Always come back ’cause you want to bust / Holding back / Ain’t no turning back when you fall in love,” he spits. Near the end of the song, we are treated to Welch’s ear-piercing yodeling of “I come apart / Nothing lasts forever.”

We don’t know if hip-hop heads will embrace the Harlem rapper’s experimental rap-pop song, but it’s certainly different. Along with Skrillex‘s ‘Wild for the Night‘ and the posse track ‘1 Train,’ Rocky has quite an eclectic album. We’ll have to see how consumers respond to it on Jan. 15.

Chart-topping pop stars Nicki Minaj and Adam Levine have partnered with Kmart to bring their respective fashion lines to its stores and the shopping website, ShopyourWay.com.

As we previously reported, both the Queen Barbz and Maroon 5 frontman will develop separate lifestyle brands that will include apparel, housewares and accessories.

“We welcome Adam and Nicki into our world and look forward to capturing their energy and creativity on ShopYourWay.com and translating it into unique apparel, accessories and other merchandise,” beamed Imran Jooma, a Marketing & Online executive at Sears Holdings, which owns Kmart.

For Minaj, this is a great opportunity for her to create a unique fashion line, which she has always talked about in past interviews. “I am so excited to work with this iconic, mass retailer and to bring affordable fashion to my beautiful barbz all across the U.S.,” she said.

“Partnering with Shop Your Way to develop this line was an exciting opportunity for me and I am really looking forward to diving into the process of designing an apparel and accessory collection,” added Levine.

Both lifestyle brands from Minaj and Levine are expected to hit Kmart stores by the 2013 holiday season.

Kanye West to Record Dr. Seuss Rap for His Unborn Kid

Kanye West may be taking the whole baby daddy thing just a little too far if we are to believe the tabloids. According to Hollywire (via The Sun), Yeezy is penning his own remake of Dr. Seuss’s classics ‘Green Eggs Ham’ and ‘The Cat in the Hat.’

Why you may ask? Because he’s Kanye West that’s why. In all seriousness, a source gave the tabloid a logical explanation of why the 35-year-old rapper felt it was necessary to tamper with Dr. Seuss’s legendary tales.

Kanye’s going to record child-friendly raps of Dr. Seuss, who he’s a big fan of…Kanye’s really in touch with his feelings. He wants [Kim Kardashian] to lay down some vocals while she’s carrying his child. He thinks it’ll be cool for his son or daughter to listen to the track when they’re older.”

Um, okay.

Meanwhile, it looks like Kimye is not planning to cash in on their baby anytime soon. According to TMZ, the mom and papa-to-be turned down a $3 million offer from an overseas tabloid to obtain their first baby pics. However, Kimye say they would consider offers in the future just not right now.

These reports comes after the couple agreed to keep their infant off of their reality series ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians.’ Still, Kimmy will show off her baby bump on the show because she thinks that being preggers is “great and cute.”

A$AP Rocky Discusses ‘Long.Live.A$AP’ Collabs + Goals for 2013

A$AP Rocky
YouTube

In 2012, A$AP Rocky (real name Rakim Mayers) took the music and fashion world by storm with his hybrid hip-hop sound and unique sense of fashion style. The 24-year-old Harlem native is ready to kick off 2013 on a high note with his debut album, ‘Long.Live.A$AP,’ due in stores Jan. 15.

A year ago, Rocky was virtually unknown until he dropped his hard-hitting mixtape ‘Live.Love.A$AP,’ which was celebrated by music bloggers and tastemakers alike. Record labels started calling, and Rocky inked with Polo Grounds Music, under the RCA-Sony banner.

And a star was born.

Not bad for kid who has experienced some tough times growing up in Harlem, U.S.A. But Rocky’s steely confidence and perseverance has enabled him to survive, hence the A$AP moniker, which stands for “Always Strive and Prosper.”

Rocky’s new album, ‘Long.Live.A$AP,’ is a great hip-hop album that should make his core fans happy. One of the most-talked about songs on the collection is his posse track ‘1 Train,’ which features an all-star of well-versed emcees Kendrick Lamar, Big K.R.I.T., Joey BadA$$, Action Bronson and Yelawolf.

The self-proclaimed “Dat Pretty Motherf—er” talked to PopCrush about his new album, his upcoming tour with Rihanna, and what he’s looking to accomplish in 2013. (Note: This interview was conducted before A$AP Rocky’s father passed away. We send our heartfelt condolences to his family.)

Congratulations on your success in 2012. I’m sure you’re happy that the album is finally coming out after a long delay.
Thank you. Yeah, I’m glad man. I’m happy that people will finally get to hear what I’ve been working on this whole time.

First off we have to talk about the posse track ’1 Train.’ That song is crazy. How did the idea come about for that incredible song?
It was my idea. I just wanted people to hear a posse cut that no one has ever heard before in a long time.

Were all of them in the studio together? Was it competitive?
Well, some of us were [in the studio together]. I wasn’t in the studio with [Big] K.R.I.T. and Yelawolf. Of course, it was competitive [in the booth], but that’s what hip-hop is about. It’s all love, though, at the end of the day.

Your album, ‘Long.Live.A$AP,’ has some interesting collaborations. You have a song ‘I Come Apart’ with Florence Welch from Florence + the Machine. Were you a fan of their music?
Honestly, I was never into them until they reached out. I knew about them because they won Grammys and stuff. After that I got into them. It was great working with them on that song.

And you have a song with Skrillex called ‘Wild for the Night,’ which might surprise a few people with that collaboration.
Skrillex is my boy. We just wanted to create a song for those wild parties and stuff, you know?

We loved the haunting track ‘Phoenix’ with producer Danger Mouse.
Yeah, I was familiar with his music through Gnarls Barkley — ‘The Odd Couple’ album and stuff. I really wanted to work with him. So I hope people will dig the record.

You also have a song called ‘Fashion Killa.’ Since you have been killing the game with your unique fashion style, will there ever be a A$AP clothing line in the future?
No…no…no. I’m cool on that.

Was there any particular event in 2012 that was most memorable for you?
Completing my project for one. Performing for the first time at different award shows was memorable. My first time performing on big records with Usher [‘Hot Thing’], Lil Wayne, Rihanna [‘Cockiness’] and touring with Drake. It’s been a good year for me.

What about grabbing Rihanna’s booty at the MTV Video Music Awards? That was the most memorable grab of 2012.
You funny, bruh. She’s the homie, though.

Are you excited about touring with Rihanna on her Diamonds World Tour? Will there be any pyrotechnics with your stage show?
I’m very excited about that, it’s going to be fun. I don’t know about all that other stuff. I don’t know.

Have you and Rihanna discussed what your plans are going to be on the trek?
Not yet, maybe next year we’ll talk.

Oh, and congratulations on the signing of A$AP Ferg to Sony Music.
Thank you, thank you. I’m real happy for him. He’s next in line, so look out for him.

On a separate note, what do you think about the sudden rise of Trinidad James? He’s currently experiencing the same kind of buzz you had a couple of years ago. What advice would give him because all eyes are watching him right now?
Honestly, I feel that the rap game needs more creative people like him, who are coming in and doing their own thing, ya feel me? But also I feel, like, a lot of people get to a certain stage and then they flop or fumble the ball and everything is f—ed up. If I had any advice for him, it’s don’t lose it, hang in there and don’t lose your head.

Finally, what are your goals for 2013?
I want to stay out of trouble and keep making creative s—, ya feel me? I want people to go buy my album and listen to it. I really worked hard on it and I’m really proud of myself. Enjoy it.

Nelly Goes For a Ride with ‘Hey Porsche’ Single

Nelly
Jason Merritt, Getty Images

Nelly is back and he’s eyeing the pop charts with his radio-friendly single ‘Hey Porsche.’ The song follows the formula of his 2010 hit ‘Just a Dream’ with its twangy rock guitar riffs and sing-songy rap flows.

On the track, Nelly rhymes about the object of his affection as he metaphorically describes her like the sought-after luxury vehicle. “I want to take your top off / Celebrate, little champagne pop off, yeah / We can turn the clocks off / No rush we can park somewhere,” he raps.

The St. Louis rhymer also sings a catchy pop hook on the chorus that goes, “Hey little Porsche / I want drive ya / Crazy baby girl, there’s nothing like ya / Hey little Porsche / So right, I had to get ya / Back it up and let’s roll.”

It’s blatantly clear that Nelly is going after the pop terrain that fellow rapper Flo Rida has conquered within the past year. Some Nelly fans might frown at that, but it’s the nature of the business. Who knows? He might even score an endorsement deal with the car maker.

Nelly is currently working on his seventh album ‘M.O.,’ which is expected to hit stores in 2013.

What do you think about Nelly’s new song ‘Hey Porsche’? Tell us in the comments below.

Lil Wayne’s Reps Deny Pixar Movie Rumors

Lil Wayne
Larry Busacca, Getty Images

Lil Wayne playing an animated character in a movie may sound good on paper, but, unfortunately, it’s not going to happen anytime soon. Weezy’s managers told MTV News that the Young Money honcho is not starring in any Pixar movie about dinosaurs.

The rumor was Wayne would be voicing a character in ‘The Good Dinosaur,’ a Pixar film about the friendship between a boy and his pet brontosaurus. The movie, which will be directed by Bob Peterson and Peter Soh, was expected to hit theaters in May 2014.

The story didn’t seem too far fetched since fellow Young Money superstars Drake and Nicki Minaj voiced the wooly mammoth characters in 2012′s ‘Ice Age: Continental Drift.’ Weezy has done previous voiceover work on a few projects including a 2007 episode of ‘The Boondocks’ and 2010′s ‘Freaknik the Musical.’

In other Lil Wayne news, the 30-year-old rapper is appealing the judgment in his legal case against producer Quincy Jones III. If you recall, a jury ordered Wayne to pay over $2 million to QDIII after he didn’t show up for his own trial back in October. The case stems from Wayne’s lawsuit against the producer for using his music in an unauthorized 2009 documentary called ‘The Carter.’

The case also features Wayne’s infamous deposition tape, in which he gave QDIII’s attorney a hard time during questioning. It’s still a hilarious video to watch.

Wayne has filed documents for his intent to appeal. The ‘No Worries’ rapper has 30 days to officially file an appeal or else he has to pay up.

Azealia Banks Goes to War with Rap Newcomer Angel Haze on Twitter

Azealia Banks Angel Haze
Frazer Harrison / Rick Diamond, Getty Images

Azealia Banks is Twitter beefing again — this time against up-and-coming rapper Angel Haze. According to The Drop.fm, the bickering is over a tweet the ’212′ rapper made about Haze not being a native New Yorker.

“Seriously, if you were not born and raised in NY…. DON’T CLAIM NY. YOU ARE NOT A NEW YORKER,” wrote Banks. This prompted Haze, who is a Detroit native, to respond with several tweets threatening to physically hurt Banks, which, unceremoniously, have been deleted from her feed.

The cat fight on the social media network continued with each rapper taking shots at each other’s physical appearance, lyrical skills and who is the bigger lesbian.

Although Haze denies getting rid of her tweets, she did, however, drop a scathing diss song just hours after their Twitter feud. The Diplo-produced ‘On the Edge’ features Haze ripping into Banks. “B—- I got ammo on you / B—-, you don’t want war,” she warns.

Back on Twitter, Banks seems unfazed by Haze’s diss song. “YOU WANT THE P—- SOOOO BADDDDDD @ANGELHAZE LOLOL..this diss track is not even hot!!! lmfaooooooooooo !!!!!!” she tweeted.

In addition, Diplo has distanced himself from the fracas. “Diplo just calls me and tells me she wrote that track months ago and he had nothing to do with it,” Banks revealed on her feed.

Banks also added that she will drop a new song, ‘No Problems,’ today (Jan. 4) in response to Haze’s song. “Lol I def used that energy to write a fly new jam tho. It’s not even really a diss anymore! Haha !!!” she writes. “Just straight fly uptown NYC s—!!”

To be continued…

Rita Ora Will Bring Plenty of Surprises on U.S. Debut Album in 2013

Rita Ora had quite a year with the U.K. release of her debut album ‘ORA’ and her chart-topping hits ‘How We Do (Party)’ and ‘R.I.P.’ So when will she release her LP stateside?! Chill, it’s coming, promises the Roc Nation songbird.

Ora has been working diligently on new songs for her U.S. debut album and teased that a couple of Roc Nation artists might join her on the collection. “There’s a few surprises. I don’t want to give them away, but it’s definitely in the Roc family,” she told MTV News. “2013 is really important for me because it’s gonna to be the first time the U.S. hears my official album and I wanted to put a few extra tracks on there and make it really special. So I’m basically giving you guys a whole new album of new material.”

Awesome! We can only guessimate which Roc Nation artist will appear on her album, but a duet with J. Cole and her boss, Jay-Z, would make us giddy here in the office. We have been waiting with bated breath on Ora’s new album, so we’re glad that it will drop in 2013.

As for any new plans this year, the 22-year-old blonde bombshell is coy with her answer, but it sounds very promising. “2013′s got a lot of things I want to achieve. There’s a lot of kind of plans and ideas that are gonna come out in 2013,” she says.
