PopCrush is rounding up the Top 40 Pop Songs for the month of January to let you know what’s hot in the new year! Our list is based off of what we think is going to be taking over the charts in the first month of 2013. We ranked the songs based on what’s trending, reader favorites, and overall listener reception.

This month, there have been some big changes to our Top 40 Pop Songs list, especially in our Top 5. New to our list and in our No. 3 spot is the Lumineers, who has been topping the charts with their single ‘Ho Hey.’ However, they were no match for Bruno Mars, who’s single ‘Locked Out of Heaven’ jumped from No. 4 to No. 1 on our countdown.

Newcomers to our Top 40 Pop Songs list is One Direction‘s ‘Little Things’ and Maroon 5‘s ‘Daylight.’ Both tracks were just released recently and are already starting to climb the iTunes and Billboards charts. We’re expecting these tracks to be huge hits in 2013 and to fall in our Top 10 pretty soon.

Other new additions to our list include T.I.‘s ‘Ball’ featuring Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa‘s ‘Remember You’ featuring the Weeknd, and Juicy J’s ‘Bandz a Make Her Dance’ featuring Weezy and 2 Chainz. Check out the rest of our Top 40 Pop Songs for January 2013 to see if your favorite song made the cut.

New Music Releases – January 2013

A$AP Rocky

January 2013 is almost here, which means the new year is just around the corner. While we’re excited to takle our New Year resolutions, we’re also looking forward to hearing new music.

There may be a limited amount of new music releases for January 2013, but the talent is not lacking. First off A$AP Rocky‘s ‘Long.Live.A$AP’ is finally dropping after clearing up some sampling issues. (Be still our beating hearts.) He even managed to recruit not three or four… but seven of the hottest emcees for just one track! There’s also some surprising collaborators, such as Florence + the Machine and Skrillex. Fans will finally get to hear more when the album drops on Jan. 15.

Another artist we’re really looking forward to hearing more from is J.Cole. Since details of his sophomore album ‘Born Sinner’ have been hush hush over the last few months, we can’t wait to hear what the rapper has in store for us. ‘Born Sinner’ is expected to hit the shelves on Jan. 28.

Check out the rest of the new music releases for January 2013 below and keep your eyes peeled to PopCrush. We will be letting you know more about the many new music releases throughout the year!

New Songs on the Radio – December 2012

December is well underway, which means it’s time for the last new songs on the radio recap for the year 2012. Believe it or not — there will be a lot of new non holiday-centric tracks on the airwaves this month and we can’t wait to hear what our favorite pop stars have in store!

Bruno Mars’ new album officially drops this month (Dec. 11), but before the big release he teased a few tracks. In addition to his single ‘Locked Out of Heaven,’ he released two promotional singles (‘Moonshine’ and ‘Young Girls’), as well the the ballad ‘When I Was Your Man.’ Fans are already loving this piano-based ballad, which details the singer’s tale of a lost love.

Another track we’re expecting to hear a lot of on the air is Kesha’s acoustic version of ‘Supernatural.’ The singer’s purpose for stripping down on one of her best dance tracks is to prove she can be just as great of a popstar without Auto-tune and production. Fans are going to love this track and some of the other cuts off of the ‘Deconstructed EP’ out now.

You can check out some of the new songs that will be hitting the airwaves in December 2012 below, and keep checking back to PopCrush as we’ll update this list throughout the month.

New Songs on the Radio – November 2012

PopCrush is rounding up new songs on the radio for November 2012 — to let you know the hottest tracks to hit the airwaves during Turkey Month. Since the holidays are just around the corner, we’re expecting to hear some great new singles mixed in with new holiday-centric numbers on the airwaves.

Nicki Minaj started off the month with a bang already with her new song ‘Freedom.’ While it’s unclear whether or not the track will be her new single, we think it will fit perfectly on both hip-hop and pop stations. The track is one of the many newer tracks off her collection ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up’ which hits stores on Nov. 19.

Another track to look out for on the air this November is Christina Aguilera‘s new song ‘Blank Page.’ Unlike her latest single ‘Your Body,’ this song is a ballad, that will probably have the same effect as her hit single ‘Beautiful.’ Both ‘Blank Page’ and ‘Your Body’ are featured on the pop star’s new album ‘Lotus,’ which is set to release on Nov. 13.

Bruno Mars also created a buzz this month with the debut of his new song ‘Young Girls.’ Fans who already got a taste of the song on ‘Saturday Night Live’ a few weeks ago can now listen to the studio version, which has a completely different tone. ‘Young Girls’ is the first song off the singer’s sophomore album ‘Unortodox Jukebox,’ out Dec. 11.

Check out these new songs that will be hitting the airwaves in November 2012, and keep checking back to PopCrush as we’ll update this list throughout the month.

New Songs on the Radio – October 2012

October 2012 is in full swing, which means it’s time for a recap of the new songs on the radio! There are a bunch of new releases hitting the shelves this month, so we’re expecting some great new hits to debut on the airwaves.

This month, Taylor Swift continues to shine with the release of her promotional single ‘Red.’ The title track seems to be another huge hit for the songstress — with three great new hits this fall, fans are saying that Swift’s new album (out Oct. 22) will be the best pop album of the year.

Another track to look out for on the air this October is Ellie Goulding‘s new single ‘Explosions.’ The singer’s second single has a more somber tone than ‘Lights’, but we think fans will love it just as much as her debut hit. ‘Explosions’ appears on Goulding’s new album  ’Halcyon’ out Oct. 8.

Bruno Mars is also creating some buzz this month with his new single ‘Locked Out of Heaven.’ The singer’s new track has a little more sex appeal and attitude than his previous singles. ‘Locked Out of Heaven’ is the first taste of Mars’ new album ‘Unorthodox Jukebox,’ out this December.

Check out these new songs that will be hitting the airwaves in October 2012, and keep checking back to PopCrush as we’ll update this list throughout the month.
